The Kinzhal only travels that fast for a short period early on it its launch. It slows down quite a bit before the end of its flight. Also, a Patriot battery is huge and widely spread out, so even if it did fully destroy one part of the battery, the damage won't be near the full $1.7 billion cost of an entire Patriot battery.

New round of missile attacks inbound. Guess we'll see if that Patriot is still functioning.

Looks like something hit a grocery store in Mykoliva

Do you understand how Patriot batteries are structured?

Go easy on him. It’s not like you posted two descriptive graphics explaining the Patriot battery structure in this thread

It was even on the same page as his post.

Which is a retarded reduction.

If the bar to clear is a government devoid of corruption, then my goodness.

So essentially our AWACS on patrol can beam information directly into this system?

Yes. It's designed to take inputs from a variety of sources to build a complete picture of the airspace over the battlefield.

Right, I understood that. But i mean its not just ukr inputs. Nato is essentially directly integrated into the system

Lol. Is the claim that 'both sides are bad m'kay' an example of 'high rung thought'? Again, that's a convenient reduction which is thought terminating, and avoids looking at the complicated reality. Firstly, European security is part and parcel of US security strategy, and thus any conflict in that area is well within the US's purview. Secondly, what if the goal of Russian FP is to create a series of failed-states at the edge of NATO for the purpose of destabilization? The evidence for this is Russia's behavior in Moldova (to give an example not related to Ukraine), which is supported by documents uncovered by Swedish media which outlines a plan the Russians have to attempt to bring Moldova back into its sphere of influence. In essence, Russia attempts to degrade institutions abroad for their own purposes, and you appear to be the perfect mark to believe that institutions in Eastern Europe of all places are somehow robust.

The fact that corruption exists in Ukraine is less interesting as to the reasons for that corruption, which apparently is difficult for you to conceive.

Yeah Putin has to figure out how to surrender without it looking like he surrendered.

Hmmmm...what are others thoughts on this? I am leaning disinformation mainly.

Twitter - @NORLreports

Ukraine does not have enough military equipment to launch a counteroffensive against Russia, the deputy head of Zelenskyi's office Ihor Zhovkva said, writes Sky News.

"Unfortunately, the level of equipment we have is not yet enough to start the counteroffensive. To start a counteroffensive, with the result being the liberation of Ukrainian territories, you need enough artillery systems and ammunition. You need armoured vehicles and tanks."

I believe that is what Ukrainian officials are saying. I don't believe it is true though. It's just how they are angling for more aid.

Man, that would be some shite if a few African heads of state brought a peace plan to the table and both sides agreed.

To be clear, I don't think this is going to happen,(weird how China and African nations who would benefit from Russia being as stable as possible are leading the peace charge) but considering the things that go on in this world everyday, it would fit with the times in coming out of left field.

I'm very pessimistic on the war ending anytime soon, even with neutral mediation. Russia doesn't want to deal with the ramifications of what is in essence a major defeat and the Ukrainians are convinced they can win and possibly retake Crimea. They don't feel the need to negotiate with what they see as momentum being on their side.

Even if the Ukrainian offensive happens I don't see either side suing for peace because the Russians, even if they lose ground, will try to counter and take back territory and the Ukrainians will not be satisfied unless they push Russia back over the border (which I don't think they can do).

This war has been a demographic disaster for both countries which already had low birth rate and very high emigration/brain drain. I don't see it stopping anytime soon either, it'll just get worse.
