But of course. Couldn’t have been anything of strategic value, according to the American propaganda machine.
Documented but clueless are gonna clueless. The entire site was overgrown as if abandoned for decades except of a few small active operations scattered about. Even the rail is overgrown with old corroded rail cars.

As reference to that chemical explosion, I give you Pepcon, Henderson, NV 1988 explosion with first explosion being 2 tons of ammonium perchlorate exploding then after natural gas pipeline exploded an additional 4500 tons exploded.
LINK
The 38 missiles stored there contained around 1800 tons of completed solid rocket fuel, not just the ammonium perchlorate. Accelerant included.

An eerie video clip of the drive on the 0504 highway in Ivanivske, just to the west of Bakhmut. Several burned-out armored vehicles can be seen, including one that's still smoking. The view of Bakhmut shows many plumes of smoke going up high into the sky -- quite the contrast to all the new spring leaves we see along the road.

It hasn't ended and they aren't losing ground.
It appears to be close to a stalemate right now.
If you said the offense hasn’t failed, and is still underway I wouldn’t argue with you . Russia seems to gain a block or so every once in awhile.

Gen. Syrskyi visited Bakhmut today. Who knows, though, whether he was there to organize a withdrawal or a counterattack?

I try and look at the big picture. I’m not into discussing whether or not 15 missiles were intercepted or was it 30.
I am interested in what is going on overall.
It is obvious to me that the war is not going well for Russia. It was supposed to be over in less than six months from what I can gather. Russia had neither the men or material to fight longer than that. They had to scramble fir both men, ammo and equipment.
The Ukrainian counter offensive was a big success, Ukraine threw Russia out of some key areas and forced them to defend those areas after their retreats.
And their second offense failed to defeat Ukraine in a decisive manner. They fought hard around Bakmuth and took some Ukrainian territory but they are still slogging away there and they have not managed to encircle their opponent or pull off a breakthrough.
Elsewhere it seems as if both sides are probing for weak spots with no major activity. Russia is digging in and building fixed defenses whereas Ukraine is organizing for a second big counteroffensive.
That’s how I see it. Russia may be ahead; since they have gained territory since Feb. if 2/, but the “game” is far ftom over. It’s as if the game is in the fifth inning, Russia is ahead, but they have nearly exhausted their bullpen and Ukraine is coming to bat.
It’s anybody’s game.

Yevgeny Prigozhin claims that, according to preliminary information, Major General Tantsyura, Commander of the Territorial Defense Forces of Ukraine, was killed by Wagner artillery between Chasov Yar and Bakhmut. Let's see if this gets confirmed by other sources.

It was supposed to be over in six days.
Two weeks maximum.

So we are in the second inning, if true.

Are you talking abou the interview posted link above to Times Radio? Where Sir Richard Shirreff predicted 2-3 more years of war?

Clinton Deploys Vowels to Bosnia - Cities of Sjlbvdnzv, Grzny to Be First Recipients
(originally appeared in The Onion, in 1996)
Before an emergency joint session of Congress yesterday, President Clinton announced US plans to deploy over 75,000 vowels to the war-torn region of Bosnia. The deployment, the largest of its kind in American history, will provide the region with the critically needed letters A,E,I,O and U, and is hoped to render countless Bosnian names more pronounceable.
"For six years, we have stood by while names like Ygrjvslhv and Tzlynhr and Glrm have been horribly butchered by millions around the world," Clinton said. "Today, the United States must finally stand up and say 'Enough.' It is time the people of Bosnia finally had some vowels in their incomprehensible words. The US is proud to lead the crusade in this noble endeavour."
The deployment, dubbed Operation Vowel Storm by the State Department, is set for early next week, with the Adriatic port cities of Sjlbvdnzv and Grzny slated to be the first recipients. Two C-130 transport planes, each carrying over 500 24-count boxes of "E's," will fly from Andrews Air Force Base across the Atlantic and airdrop the letters over the cities.
Citizens of Grzny and Sjlbvdnzv eagerly await the arrival of the vowels. "My God, I do not think we can last another day," Trszg Grzdnjkln, 44, said. "I have six children and none of them has a name that is understandable to me or to anyone else. Mr. Clinton, please send my poor, wretched family just one 'E.' Please."
Said Sjlbvdnzv resident Grg Hmphrs, 67: "With just a few key letters, I could be George Humphries. This is my dream."
The airdrop represents the largest deployment of any letter to a foreign country since 1984. During the summer of that year, the US shipped 92,000 consonants to Ethiopia, providing cities like Ouaouoaua, Eaoiiuae, and Aao with vital, life-giving supplies of L's, S's and T's.

Depends on whom you choose to believe.
Its going to be a long war with lots of dead people and a shite load of US money.
Until negotiations occur, or we put a lot of soldiers on the ground the war will grind on. We are in 1914 of WWI that still has years to go.
