I wouldnt be surprised if there were charges planted on the piers somewhere else and they just sit back and wait for the right time to push the button.
If I was living in Crimea I would be very hesitant to think of that bridge as a long term asset.

It does look like Russia is going to be able to continue to use the rail bridge in some capacity. And the road bridge has one lane open for cars (but presumably not for heavy trucks).
And the heavy stuff will go by boat:

So, now that we know more about the damage situation, what's the impact of the strike? It does complicate Russian logistics somewhat, but I think the bigger impact is psychological: Ukraine shows Russia that they are going to lose everything that they ever gained in Ukraine. The Kerch Bridge, like the Moskva, has been a symbol of Russian dominance. And everyone on both sides now knows that Ukraine has the capability to strike the bridge again -- it has the smell of doom on it.

The railway bridge is a double track. The track furthest from the blast may be usable or more readily repairable. I think the type of construction makes them somewhat independent from each other.
The fire weakened the structural box beams Track is easy to replace

Try to spin it however you want the terrorist attack on the bridge was an abject failure. Well unless the intention was only to murder innocent civilians.

Striking a strategic bridge while being in an active state of war is by definition not a “terrorist” attack, especially if you do it at a low traffic time (see video).
On top of that, if the end result is the bridge is usable for low level passenger traffic but you can’t do a heavy haul on it, it becomes the best possible outcome - military resupply is disrupted while civilians can still make use of the bridge.

I think he's an angsty teenage trying to be edgy. He probably has a Che poster on his bedroom wall.

I’d claim it a success if Ukranian special Ops painted F Putin on the bridge pavement; the fact they blew up a segment is icing on the cake.

Ngl, watching Ukraine clown on Russia is highly entertaining. Soviet bastards

If Ukraine can manage this, any halfass Western military would wreck them.
