And we gave Russia enough notice to evacuate and Putin gave us implied permission to target that specific one.
Putin/Assad fricked up and this was the cost. It was basically a symbolic act/media show for Trump to counter the picture of that one boy. It had no actual effect on anything.

The @Warmonitor3 Twitter feed has the most up-to-the-minute reporting of what is happening that I've found. Keep in mind that almost none of this is confirmed until after the actions are over so consume it with the fog of war in mind. Throughout the war his stuff has aligned with other follow on reporting.

I actually know the co-pilot who was flying that aircraft when that happened and I can promise you it wasn’t pretty for them either but if they hadn’t left the plane would have been overrun as the Marines were doing everything that could to keep contain but it just wasn’t possible.
