Even that Iraq whataboutism is so, so bad. No one questions that Saddam used chemical weapons in his genocide against the Kurds. If you are unaware, you can read about the Anfal Campaign that systematically murdered somewhere between 50,000 and 100,000 Kurds. You can read about the Halabja Massacre, history's largest mass-murder using chemical weapons.
And if you are ever in Sulaymaniyah, as I was last summer, you can visit the Amna Suraka museum, which now occupies Saddam's former torture chambers in the city, and you can see exactly how and where he tortured untold numbers of innocent civilians, and you can read their stories.
I'm not going to sit here and defend everything that the US did in the Iraq War. But, in addition to his genocide against the Kurds, Saddam invaded and tried to conquer Kuwait, repeatedly violated UN resolutions requiring him to allow access to nuclear weapons inspectors, tried to assassinate former President G.H.W Bush.
Anyone who compares the removal of Saddam to the Russian invasion of Ukraine is simply a fan of evil. To call it "whataboutism" doesn't really do justice to just how horrible this comparison is.
"Woe to them who call evil good, and good evil."
Edit: Seriously, go to Erbil or Sulaymaniyah and try to tell the Kurds that they would be better off if Saddam were still in power, and that "US imperialism" is the cause of the world's ills. I fricking dare you.

“its a slaughter” – Ukraine Volunteer Transcripts
Some Ukrainian soldiers are reporting that they’re actually feeling traumatised by how many dead Russian soldiers they have seen. The Russians may have been ordered not to surrender & are fleeing instead

Russians shoot civilian cars near Kupiansk: 10 children among those killed 01.10.2022 16:02
The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) is investigating the fact of shooting by the Russian troops of a convoy of civilian cars in the Kupiansk district of Kharkiv region.
The SBU said this in a Facebook post, Ukrinform reports.
"At the end of September, the rashists struck a convoy of seven cars. At least 20 people, including 10 children, were killed. A brutal attack on civilians was carried out by the occupiers’ sabotage and reconnaissance group - they used small arms to shoot six old cars and one Gazelle truck at close range. The enemy once again proved that their goal is the elimination of all Ukrainians, regardless of age and gender. The occupiers are defeated on the battlefield, and out of desperation, they kill civilians in response. But the rashists will not escape punishment - we will find everyone and they will be held accountable for the atrocities committed," said acting SBU Head Vasyl Maliuk.

Bama must be taking lessons from Russia. Their defense had been collapsing the 3rd quarter against Arkansas, 17 points given up.

The smart Russian's I know are now war refugees or awaiting exit from Putin's Russia. No sane/educated Russians want to die in Ukraine for a crazy President and his rich friends.

There aren’t too many people left in this day and age who actually believe it is the US military’s mission to fight metaphysical evil across the globe. Insane. You’ve drank the kool aid deep man.

Russian forces are struggling to establish a new line of defence after their defeat around Lyman area.
This is because they do not have the manpower or the communication to do so.

The kids would call this a “humble brag.”

War monitor is a NATO shill account. New lines have already been established in kreminna.

I found things out about myself being the first to see an elderly neighbor dead in his garden. That was not in wartime. I do know that an uncle took many gold teeth out of dead Japanese in New Guinea in WWII. He had a 4 foot long string of them he would show his children annually about what we do to our enemies.

The Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, the Hellsinki Accords, and the United Nations Charter all contain provisions which Ukraine has requested be enacted. Since we signed all of those treaties we must fulfill the obligations.
To be honest with you I don’t know enough about how any of those are supposed to work to really have an opinion. I kind of doubt any of them say what you think they say but I really don’t know and could be wrong. I also disagree with your interpretation of Budapest but I am also not a legal scholar so I could be wrong. From reading your posts I know you have real life friends in the combat and maybe you’ve been over there too and I sincerely respect that and sincerely hope the best for all of them. Just on a purely ideological/ political level I don’t believe that the USA should be supporting the war effort there but I say that with all due respect to the real people involved in the conflict and i sincerely don’t want to take anything away from their courage and sacrifice. Sincerely. Anyway, respect to you and your friends over there and I will troll this thread but mean no disrespect.

Per Rybar the Russian shill.
Gotta let that one play out. Probably ends up like your Lyman prediction.

Whatever it takes to cope. My grandfather fought in the Philippines, and I don’t think he coped well with the death he saw…including seeing the Japanese bodies. I think he did a lot of drinking in later life to calm his nerves and forget some of that.
