Interesting that personal friends who worked for Trump are involved in supporting Ukraine. I bet that you haven't even met anyone with Trump's team, and definitely don't know anyone who has bee working for him politically since 2011
As a matter of fact I know several. My kid is very involved in GOP politics, and has actually worked on the Hill for 2 GOP congressmen. I don’t think that I make myself clear on my original post, so I edited.

Yeah, you are correct, guess I got spoiled. I see the administration has allowed the political crap over here again.

Why are the warmongers so angry? It's OK. We've sent them enough money to fight another 5 years before we send another trillion.

Just calling out the new Hawks on the Left, whose only reason for supporting Ukraine is that they really do believe Trump was a Russian Asset, and that they are cheering on people with no weapons to take on a brutal police state.
I don't know of anyone, especially on the OT that supports Ukraine for anything to do with Trump. Ukraine was wrongfully invaded by a thuggish regime and win or lose, their resistance has been nothing short of a miracle so far.
As for Russians protesting, no one is saying they should try to overtake the government by force. Where do you get this nonsense?

Putin grants Snowden Russian citizenship just in time to be sent to the front
Conscripting Snowden would be absolutely epic.
It would be a very Russian thing to do.

Moscow stock exchange is 50% of what it was in February. Gazprom isn't doing so hot either. Lukoil is in the toilet, Rosneft is teetering. So much for Russian energy being profitable

Roger that. Trump has nothing to do with the current situation. He looked silly saying that Putin was a genius for the invasion, but since that comment at the very beginning he hasn't said anything of note about it. He isn't president.
The Trump administration made some mistakes in its dealings with Ukraine and also delivered on the promise to assist in helping Ukraine build its defense force, doing a lot of good work. Being Pro-Trump or not really shouldn't frame the situation for anyone. Trump is too far removed from this current situation to be the focus of anyone with half a brain.

Russia busting out the old Kraz deuce and half copies from the 60's. Russia is like a pawpaw that never throws out anything and never buys anything new. They did get a cool new bumper sticker and maybe some new Chinese tires.

Well said. The inability of people to view things through anything other than partisan politics is a really awful development and not one I know how to undue. People cheerleading Russia because they think it makes Biden look bad or validates trump is shoehorning party politics where it doesn’t belong.
But people have ingested the poison whole hog. In a week’s time an American city is likely to be devastated by a hurricane and a major story line sucking air from the room will be how Desantis greets Biden so as to avoid the Christie hugging Obama optics.

Video of conscripts being told they will be provided with uniforms, guns and armor and everything else is on them. Sleeping bags/pads and first aid/medicine? No boys that is on you.
I know someone has mentioned this but I don't think they had the video, if they did post it ignore this as it is almost certainly the same one.

Anyone wanna take bets on if those Kraz make it 30 miles before breaking down? Who has the over? I’m saying 25 miles and a pile of smoke and rust on the side of the road. That’s just so pitiful and absolutely hilarious. I wonder what Russian troops have to be thinking when they get handed one of those bad boys to lug around their heavy arse 60 year old artillery pieces on muddy roads. Also, is that fricking cardboard they put over the windows? That’s really going to keep the weather out! Russia feels like one big tetanus shot. Everything is rusted out.

The Russian talking heads aren't really skippy about the mechanics of the partial mobilization so far. I admit I love to watch Vladimir Solovyov bluster in his clownish Mandarin collared double-breasted suits. He always looks like he is about to explode while simultaneously scared to death that he might say the wrong thing. If you watch him it is clear he has learned to mimic multiple US talking heads in demeanor, cadence, and presentation but he shouldn't be taken lightly as he is part of the Russian elite and is well educated with multiple PhDs in STEM and not STEM albeit from Russian institutions.

What do you do in that situation? I assume you are either going to be killed (probably by artillery) or you surrender?
