Don’t forget a good chunk of Russia’s starting lineup got injured in the 1st half, and while it remains true that the 4-star recruits manning Russia’s 2nd team should still be able to handle Ukraine’s mix of 3-star recruits and walk-ons, Russia knocked themselves completely out out of contention against league powerhouse USA - which now gets to focus more on an up and coming program in China.
Although there is some controversy as some league leaders are calling “foul” that USA is letting a MAC team use its practice facilities and coaches for free.

By all accounts Russia is way more corrupt than Ukraine. Perhaps if they are allowed to escape the Russian orbit, they would become even less corrupt.
Besides Russia has threatened out national security for decades. Why let them regain what they lost?

I recall our last aid package in July 8, 2022, included, "C-4 explosives, demolition munitions, and demolition equipment for obstacle clearing;"
Maybe "obstacle clearing" includes weapons storage facilities. They could be considered "obstacles."
