1. ThanksisADemocrat is wrong on everything he/she/they has commented on.

2. Looks like the Ukrainians have figured out how to exploit Russia’s biggest vulnerability more efficiently.

The Russian Army lives & dies by railway logistics. The 42nd Combined Army Army on the Westbank of the Dnieper is cut off from rail delivered fuel & ammunition.

From what I hear, both railway connections to the southern front are out of commission. The result is some pretty long supply lines. The blown bridge near Melitopol is estimated.

Looks like the Russians logistical problems in the south are bigger than just the bridges over the Dnieper.

According to him, it is still difficult to predict when the occupiers will be able to restore the bridge and resume traffic, but "they are in a frenzy."

The Orcs will work hard to repair the bridge and then the Ukes will blow it up again. A pattern is starting to develop.

The Russian winter is only an advantage for Russia when other armies are attempting to invade Russia. In this case the Russians are the invaders. It is a Ukrainian winter and the Russians, as the invaders, will have to figure out how to keep their forces warm while invading.

ISW Update

Russian and proxy troops in Ukraine are likely operating in roughly six groups of forces oriented on Kharkiv City and northeastern Kharkiv Oblast; along the Izyum-Slovyansk line; the Siversk-Lysychansk area; Bakhmut; the Avdiivka-Donetsk City area; and Southern Ukraine.

Kharkiv City and northeastern Kharkiv Oblast:

Mainly Volunteer Battalions and some Eastern Military District units

Siversk-Lysychansk:

Bakhmut:

Avdiivka-Donetsk City:

Southern Ukraine:

Key Takeaways

Russian and proxy troops in Ukraine are operating in roughly six force groupings.

Russian forces conducted ground attacks north of Kharkiv City, northwest of Slovyansk, east of Siversk, and made unspecified gains around Bakhmut.

Ukrainian forces reportedly struck a Wagner force concentration in Popasna, Luhansk Oblast, inflicting casualties.

Forty-two states called on Russian forces to withdraw from the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant in Enerhodar, just two to four hours before another strike hit Enerhodar.

Ukrainian forces struck the Antonivsky road bridge, likely keeping all three road bridges to and on the right bank of the Dnipro inoperable to heavy equipment.

Russian military recruitment and enlistment centers continue to face challenges in incentivizing Russians to sign military service contracts.

Russian occupation authorities continued rubleization measures and civilian data collection in occupied territories to set conditions for annexation referenda.

Why would anyone believe an invader of Ukraine would have an advantage of Winter? It’s their home turf. They live it every year.

Because they’re Russia, and they’re facing a European alliance. I’m not saying winter will be bad for the Ukrainians, but I’m saying it will be absolutely catastrophic for the Germans, Italians, French, Spanish, and Brits. They don’t know how to deal with winter without Russian supplies. That’s when this all falls apart.

With Ukraine attacking Russian supply lines I’d rather be in Paris, Rome, Madrid, and London than a Russian soldier in Kherson.
