Still the public was overwhelmingly against the INSTALLED president. Russian sympathizer government shooting protestors only made the public pissed off even more. Many died, many more wounded.

This video making the rounds confirming at least 1 aircraft destroyed

There doesn’t seem to be much wreckage footage reaching social media from the Russian airbase in Novofedorivka, Crimea, but there is this 1-second clip showing the cooked remains of a jet. Lots of debris scattered, too. LINK

Novofedorivka airbase in Crimea pictured hours before the explosions

A satellite image of the Russian airbase in Novofedorivka 4 hours before the explosions appeared on the web.

A picture from the Planet Labs satellite was released by the “Scheme” (Radio Liberty – ed.) investigative journalists.

Ukrainian Military Portal

Weather permitting, I would expect the "after" satellite photos to be available tomorrow.

Are we discussing the war or the dummies out in force today and still harping on the now retracted CBS story?

That article wasn't retracted because it was wrong, it was retracted because they were told to retract it.

Yes, plus this and this and this , all in broad daylight for all the Russian holiday makers at the beach to witness. How will RT spin this?

They kinda, sorta, halfway told the truth.

quote:

Following reports of explosions in Crimea, Russian Defense Ministry said the blasts at the Saki Air Base occurred due to the detonation of munitions.
LINK

They were correct that the explosions were the result of munition detonations. They just left out the fact that they were munitions that were fired by the enemy.

Huge explosions create mushroom cloud above Putin-annexed Crimea: Smoke billows up from a Russian military airbase 130 miles from Ukrainian frontline after 'multiple' blasts

Eyewitnesses reported as many as 15 distinct explosions in Novofedorivka, Crimea, followed by a larger blast The explosions rocked a Russian held military airbase home to a variety of fighter jets and freight aircraft Airbase is located 130 miles from nearest Ukrainian-held region and Ukraine has not accepted responsibility Russian defence ministry meanwhile is claiming the explosions came as a result of ammunition detonation The cause of the blasts is yet to be determined but a former Ukrainian Interior Ministry adviser said: 'Missiles with a range of 200-300km are already in service with us and are being used in our country' Russian officials reported five people including one child were injured in the blasts according to TASS agency

Well that’s a step up.

Among the material removed was a quote the founder of pro-Ukraine nonprofit Blue-Yellow, Jonas Ohman, who said in late April that only around 30% of aid was reaching the front lines in Ukraine. CBS said that "Since that time, Ohman says delivery has improved." It also noted that the US had sent an official — Brigadier General Garrick M. Harmon — to Kyiv specifically to monitor the use of military aid.

It doesn’t say that the information is wrong. It only says the quote is a couple months old. Even if the shipments have improved then by how much? Probably not better than 50-60% is reaching the front now.

That’s proably why the Ukrainians are still losing and still haven’t started their counterattack that was supposedly going to stat a month ago.

Let me get this straight.

In you opinion, the Ukrainians are incompetent and losing because they’re sitting back and blowing up airbases first instead of already launching a counterattack.

To you - they look like fools for knocking these air defenses out before moving forward.

Is this your take on the situation?

I said literally none of that. But I don’t believe the will have the ability to launch a successful counterattack. Russia is still attacking in the East. A few weeks ago Ukrainian Generals we’re saying they’d have Kherson by September. At this point there is virtually no shot of that happening. I suppose it’s possible but highly unlikely.

You do realize that Ukrainian bases are getting attacked to right? Ukraine’s military is taking unsustainable losses right now and time is not on their side.

No mention of the Russian spy satellite launch? Or has that been covered?

Have you not seen the nightly explosions of Russian ammunition dumps and command and control centers?

Did you not see the attack on one of the main airbases in Crimea that Russia is using to launch its aircraft?

Ukraine started the counterattacks week ago. It's just that they are still in the softening the Russian up stage. The Ukrainians have spent weeks attacking and significantly weakened the Russian logistical system. In the last, 48 hours or so we have started to see evidence that Ukraine has started using HARM missiles to go after the Russian SAM systems, and now we see the Ukrainians starting to go after the Russian air force bases in Crimea.

Weren't you a pilot in Desert Storm (or am I confusing you with another poster) were the USA spent over a month neutralizing the Iraqi air force and logistical system and demoralizing the Iraqi troops on the ground? If so then you should understand all of this, or did you expect the Ukrainians to charge head first into the Russians when they are fully supplied with ammo and the other supplies of war and their air force still has control over the sky?

I’ve seen the reports. What I haven’t seen is what the Russians are doing in response or what they’re attacking. So we’re really only getting half the story at best. And a rather rosy view of it at that.

No, I wasn’t a pilot in desert storm. I was Marine infantryman in the Iraq war and now I fly ISR as a contractor.
