Dude seriously, you can’t have military contractors or operations without significant corruption. We can’t account for Billions of dollars from Iraqi have no clue where it went. They go hand and hand and always have, they are just big dance partners now

There has been an intensive recruitment campaign for contract soldiers throughout Murmansk Oblast this summer.
Despite this, more manpower is apparently needed, so now the Governor offers a "sign-on bonus" of 100 000 roubles.

Interesting report from Meduza about the role of the Redoubt PMC (Kubinka is also where the SSO's Kubinka-2 unit is located) in the beginning of the war, and how the war helped Yevgeny Prigozhin return to a position of power.

“I feel sorry for these 18-year-old kids who signed a contract believing in the state and their commanders, only to learn that the commander is just another dumbass with stars on his shoulders,” he said, describing how young soldiers were shocked to see professional mercenaries advance in battle without crippling losses. “They’re sending people to their deaths for nothing. As a branch of the military, the Airborne Forces no longer exists. There is just a dozen or so people left in whole companies. There should be 100 people in a company, you realize.”
---
Today, the Russian military uses Wagner Group combatants as its main strike force in Ukraine, “renting out” the mercenaries to forward army units. As a result, many of the PMC’s troops in Ukraine have been killed or injured. In at least one case, a Wagner squad leader ordered his men into battle without artillery or air cover. Three sources confirmed to Meduza that this squad commander soon turned up dead (though there’s disagreement about whether he perished mysteriously after returning to Russia or was executed by his own soldiers “under the laws of war” in the field).

Btw, shouldn’t be saying this but Kurds are sitting on tons of oil. The Norwegians have already hit significant reserves in the shite fields that no one wanted. If the Germans reached out to them and helped the construction of a pipeline through turkey to the port of Iskinderan they could supply their oil demands for 20 years even before Iraqi ever comes online

There is no way in hell the Turks would ever allow a pipeline to be built through their territory to support the Kurds.

I doubt we give them any A-10’s. There’s a reason we have never sold them to other countries even our allies so I definitely don’t expect us to send them to Ukraine even with them about to be retired in the next 5 or so years supposedly in favor of having the F-35 as a do everything aircraft. I’m not so sure. They are like the B-52 and F-15 in that they have stood the test of time and never leave service because they are the best platform for the mission it was designed to do. To this day our best dog fighter is still the F-15 and the A-10 will always be the best sound for an infantry unit under fire. We have made almost 5,000 F-16’s with a few dozen set to be taken from active service at the end of this year I wouldn’t be surprised if those same aircraft are the ones that end up in Ukraine.

This isn’t really the environment for A-10’s.

The closest thing I can find:
Western Jets for Ukraine
quote:
Meanwhile, the Secretary of the US Air Force Frank Kendall said that sending older US fighter jets to Ukraine is a possibility. He didn’t rule out the suggestion of sending the A-10 Warthog close air support aircraft.
“The venerable A-10 … is not a system that we are going to need against the kinds of adversaries we’re concerned about most now,” The War Zone quoted him saying.
“General Brown addressed that question this morning about what fighters Ukraine might be interested in. That’s largely up to Ukraine. Older US systems are a possibility,” Kendall added.
“We will be open to discussions with them on what their requirements are and how we might be able to satisfy them.”

An Insta account I follow mentioned there are talks between the US & Ukraine about transferring some A-10s to them. Anyone else heard anything on this?
ETA: never mind, I see it a few posts up.

This is the USAFs most creative attempt to get rid of the A-10.

Negotiations don't equal a sale. Perhaps older models, but what do I actually know

I mean, it was designed to kill Russian tanks. And apparently Russia’s technology hasn’t increased much over the past 30 years. So I don’t see why it wouldn’t work.

landlocked dude, landlocked.
Norwegian tends to be light to very light. It is good if all you want is gasoline and diesel along with a larger crude unit fractionator. Otherwise needs to be blended with heavy first, like our Eagle Ford that no refinery wants to refine as is
