It's confusing to read this thread and think Ukraine is kicking butt just to read articles in msm that show Russia is just about done getting the land they want. If it's true that it's near the end why isn't Biden and the other leaders pushing for peace talks? It would save thousands of life's.

If Ukraine is given the weapons it was promised then it can. If it is not given the weapons it was promised then it cannot. A lot of people especially in Europe (aka Germany) are trying to sabotage the war effort by backing out on assistance commitments. So the bad news campaign is a PR campaign to make Europe actually honor its commitments instead of playing both sides of the table and stabbing Ukraine in the back.

thank you

Germany, France, and Italy need to step tf up

Why would they push for peace?

It isn’t their lives they are risking and they can enrich themselves via some fat government money laundering.

Sad thing is the democratic leadership of our country back in 2014 and the present administration are almost as much at fault as Putin is for this conflict.

And you know that how?

There’s no guarantee of that. Russia could invade another country next year. Russia could throw Ukraine into a famine. They could execute all Ukranian nationalists.

They have done all that before.

The casualty rates are still 2-1 3-1 RU-UA which is unsustainable.

TBH, that doesn’t sound sustainable for either side.

What do you mean your whole side of the aisle? Save for the War in Afghanistan (and we should have withdrawn the second we killed Bin Laden) I think every war we’ve fought in since WWII was a mistake. Henry Kissinger is not on my side of the aisle.

If you can’t see the necessity of the first gulf war, I don’t know what to say.

And I won’t even mention Korea.

Korea is the only one I’m considering may have been worth it. Gulf War, no.

You do know there were two gulf wars right? In the first one Iraq took over Kuwait and was threatening SA.

At the time we had become highly dependent on Saudi and to a lesser extent Kuwaiti oil. The free flow of oil to the US was in jeopardy. There’s no way we can let that happen.

Why because he has a different view than you? Actually I've been noticing more and more people are backing his views. Some of the posters here have tunnel vision and think it's treachery not to agree with them lock in step.

No because he’s been preaching his BS for three days now, dominating a thread about the war, and he’s been all over the place. The guy is like a disease that won’t go away.

This isn’t a political thread, and he’s ruining it with his chit. It’s obvious.

Didn’t they attack Kuwait because Iraq owed them billions for funding their oil with their previous decade earlier skirmish with Iran? Sadam was like “frick paying em back. Let’s just attack them.”

If the end result is in evitable than shouldn't Ukraine go to the table now while they still have some power instead of waiting to the end when they have nothing?

I do think that the length of time Russia has taken has made their "superpower" status appear to be a farce and that has weaken their negotiation power with the world tremendously.
