What you mistakenly call "not sucking neo-con/NWO dick" is actually opposing decades of US foreign policy aimed at limiting the sway and influence of Russia on the world stage. Your lunatic rantings about opposing the NWO are ACTUALLY material aid and support for the Russian regime (Putin) in his stated goal of reuniting the eastern block-countries under a re-built Soviet umbrella.

The NWO, boogeyman for America’s ditch diggers since 1776.

It isn’t personal for me.
Our policy is dumb, self defeating, and it doesn’t serve the national interest. That’s why I oppose it.

Ukrainians are getting rocket systems that can outreach them Russian models

I think losses have been overestimated by the internet analysts. They’re too hopeful when it comes to counting platforms both the Russians and the Ukrainians use.

Now Poland and Slovakia are sending more heavy artillery of their own as well to help even the odds
The Ukrainians probably need 150 to 200 SPGs, in addition to MLRS systems.
They also need 100s of modern tanks, and IFVs.

My question to you is this
The Russians saw the creation of a hostile western backed state in Ukraine as an existential threat. And so they went to war.
We’ve used up all of our leverage with the total sanctions though. I expect the Russians won’t stop in Ukraine until they have what they want. They’re fighting this war on the cheap too, and so there’s little to no internal pressure.

ISW June 2 report is out LINK
“The 113th Regiment of the DNR posted a video appeal to Russian President Vladimir Putin on June 2 wherein forcibly-mobilized soldiers complain they have spent the entire war on the frontline in Kherson without food or medicine, and that mobilization committees did not conduct requisite medical screenings and admitted individuals whose medical conditions should have disqualified them from service.“
It appears this video was posted to tictoc. Too bad for those guys Putin is a freak that only uses Tumblr.

I’ll have to disagree with you here. While their economy is holding up so far, but only due to unrealistic interest rates and currency controls. While effective at preventing collapse, these measures will more than likely cause longer term economic stagnation. I keep reading articles about how Russia could have a shortage of basic goods due to sanctions. Might be media wishcasting, but we’ll see.

If that's the case then there's no reason for Putin or Lavrov or the NYTimes to whine about "escalation".

Wait did you just say Ukraine needs hundreds of modern tanks when Russia is breaking out the 60 year old T-62’s? That’s hilarious. An old RPG-7 or just a well placed Molotov cocktail can take out one of those death traps. Putin is terrified for the Nordic countries to join NATO because he knows he’s really screwed then because they have well built and modernized militaries for the size of their countries.

Definitely, Taiwan’s export ban might be the biggest hit yet. Their economy was already like 70% wheat and oil, they’re gonna have to lean even harder on those industries now.

Putain never once mentioned NATO until we were going to put air defense systems in Poland. He has never recognized Ukraine as its own nation and without Ukraine there really cannot be a Russian Empire like he wants.
Lots of naive folks think that Putain is just reacting to the west.

It’s not an escalation, no matter what they say.

The state of the Russian economy is something that is hard for me to get a read on. On the one hand the IMF is forecasting a 9% decline in Russia’s GDP this year, unemployment has to be up tremendously, and the outward migration of people and capital is real. Kremlin officials on May 23 even announced the country was facing 2 years of economic downturn.
On the other hand people like this guy note Guardian Economic Editor note Russian is a commodity exporter and raising commodity prices are providing a large 2022 trade surplus sanctions notwithstanding.
In the end I think the most compelling evidence the Russian economy is in real pain is Putin raising everyone’s pension by 10% on May 25. Unelected despots in the year 22 of their rule don’t do things like that when the people are fat and happy.

People are idiots if they think he stops at Ukraine. He’s not even slowing down before he rolls through Moldova. That would be where NATO would have to seriously warn Putin although I think it needs to be now. There’s no legit reason for this war at all and if there is please tell me.

Funny how this played off just like a college football game against Bama. I’ve seen teams tied or even winning against them the first quarter and the fans be calling the game over like idiots lol.

I absolutely disagree. Putin saw an opportunity to grab more raw materials, port access and a former soviet satellite and he took it. The "Existential threat" bullshite is an "en vogue" term thrown around all too loosely these days. NATO is a defensive alliance.
This is a bullshite reason. Even the Russian people know this.

The game is far from over. Very far. The Ukrainians are hell of a fighter and they are fighting for their home unlike the Russians. It’s all about getting enough heavy precision western weapons and crews traIned to work them in time to make a difference. They will have to constantly keep their rocket systems and HIMARS on the move after they afoot them but they can one hell of a morale killer to all those Russian conscripts. They need the MLRS for the Donbas but my first target with them would be the railways that supply the Russians.

Giving away my age here (as if my username doesn't do that already), but as someone who grew up during the height of the cold war in the 60's and 70's, that was exactly the image many people had of the Soviet Union - that they were near invicible. I'm pretty sure the comparison to Bama football was thrown around even back then.
Then, of course, they collapsed.

I'll cope just fine either way. I believe it best for US Strategic interests for Russia to be humiliated in Ukraine, therefore I pull for Ukraine. No other reason.
