Problem is the don't just fight pits. They also use dogs as bait dogs for the pits to prepare for fighting. Lots of peoples dogs get stolen for that.

That's not even close to being true. The very site you pulled from has a bunch of articles about the GM case while the Vick thing is a single 12 sentence article.

There's actually no hypocrisy in it at all. 100 years ago the pit was considered America's favorite dog and that was b/c they were good on farms and known to be protective of families. The entire reason pits have become such a feared animal is frickers who for decades have been breeding them to enhance violent tenancies for dog fighting and drug running.
People like Vick are the worst as it's b/c of them that the animal has "gone bad". They should be heavily punished not only for the animal cruelty but for selectively breeding dogs to be violent and more muscular for fighting. You know what would happen to any pit he bred that acted like a normal animal? It got immediately turned into a bait dog. It's fricking disgusting.
The pit could be brought back to what it used to be but it will take many many years of selective breeding and the complete extermination of dog fighting.

Aaron Brooks was a subject of that investigation. He was cleared because his dogs showed no competitive spirit, laughed when they lost, fought off their back foot, and bit the wrong dog.

But there is no assurance, nor should there be, that you receive either one.
Some acts are so repugnant that they shouldn’t be forgiven. Cruelty to children, the aged or informed, and animals should be among them. He can seek redemption from a higher power. I owe Michel Vick nor any other repugnant individual anything. And even if I grant forgiveness, it doesn’t mean I should forget or marginalize what he did. frick him.
