I am about to look into it and see if it will work for me. Who here has had it? How much did it cost? ( from a little research this widely varies ) Did you find it was worth it to you after it was done? How long does the correction last? Anyone here have monovision done? It seems fairly new and corrects the need for reading glasses. Anyone have recommendation for doctors? Obviously I live in Ponchatoula but would have no issue going to Baton Rouge or New Orleans for a better doctor.

I had it done about 10 years ago.

I wore glasses and contacts for 20 years, I’ve gone the past 10 without either.

I’m now in my 40’s and just had to buy a pair of readers a few weeks ago.

I paid $1k per eye. Dr Jeffery Singer in Metairie did my surgery

My Brother in Law had it done 12-14 years ago. Said it was by far the best money he has ever spent.

I did it about 6 or 7 years ago
2k per eye
Biggest regret was not having it done sooner
No issues yet
Had Lasik
Eye Medical Center behind OLOL is where I went

Again, biggest regret was not having it done sooner

I got mine done about 15 years ago at the Williamson eye clinic on Old Hammond Hwy in BR. It cost me a total of 1800 for both eyes, but I had a HSA that paid for some of it. I don't remember the procedure, I'm a lightweight when it comes to drugs. But never had any issues from it. I've been better than 20/20 since. Supposedly I was a really good candidate, cause I had bad wrinkling on my corneas. Best money I ever spent..

There are different tiers/types of surgery. Basic lasik will run you $800-$1000/eye.

Dr. Singer did mine. Wish I would have done it a long time ago. Money well spent.

Jeffrey singer did my mom's eyes and my neighbor's. Both said they wish they did it sooner.

What’s the big cost difference? Some say $1800-$2000 total. Some say up to $4k. Worse eyes cost more?

I should wear don’t but don’t so my eyes aren’t that bad but I can’t see far (Example: I can’t follow a golf ball or pick up ducks coming in from far away).

That’s exactly the way I felt. I wish I would have done it 15 years sooner that I did. It was the best $2k I ever spent

I had it 6 years ago. Cost was 2400 total at Williamson clinic in BR. Best money ever spent.

I would recommend taking some benedryl or sleep medicine day of procedure so you will sleep after because my eyes felt like they had sand in them that day after surgery and keeping my eyes closed was the only relief. But after waking up the next morning, I was pain free.

Like most people, I will say it was money well spent and would do it again. That said, it did mess with my contrast sensitivity a bit so that I have a harder time seeing in dark areas than before and almost need sunglasses on a bright day.

Had it done several years ago when it was fairly new... Best thing I've ever done.. Only problem I've contracted diabetes which weakened my eyes and now I'm back to glasses... I need to call and see if I can have it done again

I tried having it done. But the doctor recommended one eye with a distant focal point, and the other with a closer focal point. They said most patients prefer this and most who do have eyes focused on distance only, regret it because they often need reading glasses after the procedure.

So I was able to take it for a test drive with contact lenses. They said my brain would adjust within a week. It didn't happen. Image quality went down, regardless of how close or distant the image was. I elected to stick with my previous contact lenses and infrequent use of reading glasses. I even fried closing one eye to see how it would be if focused on distance alone. It became obvious how much more dependent I would become on reading glasses if I corrected for distance only.
