I got it when I was 30 and wish I got it done sooner. You should get it asap.

Had my surgery done by Fay Woo at EMC at 8am. You're in and out in an hour.
Towards the end of the 15min ride home, my eyes started to really burn. Only time I experienced discomfort following the surgery.
Got in bed, slept all day, went to LSU baseball game that night with 0 pain and 4K UHD vision.
10/10 would drop the $3400 again no problem

I’ve been looking for a lawyer because my friend needed a little lasik procedure and her lasik doctor was out of town so she went to a place that could take her that day and she sat down in the lasik chair and the lady lasik doctor gave her a couple of shots on the eye and she felt woozy and when she woke up the doctor had taken her eyes out

about the only thing they'll tell you not to do is rub your eyes, you won't even know you've had it done except for dilating the pupils

Lasik does not fix/cure the natural aging of the eye- it does not delay needing readers. That's why I had mine done at 30, so I could have 15-20 years of good vision. I'm in year 12, and I can tell my vision is already changing. I probably could use readers.
Correct. I had mine around 20 years ago. Had to start using readers about 5 years ago. They were very upfront about this in pre-procedure consultation. The only negative I remember from after the procedure was halos for a few months. Perfect after those went away.

I’m approaching year 14 post-LASIK. Worth the money. I didn’t have any issues that I recall. Just follow the directions on drops, eye protection, and hydration.
During the pre-op stuff, they did find that I had tears in both retinas. Had to get that fixed before LASIK, and that was worse pain than anything LASIK gave me, even if it was extremely brief.
Still holding pretty strong, but I’m sure my aging eyes will start changing more as the years go.

I’ve not had it done. But many years ago I remember the Braves letting G Maddux get it between starts.

I had to have PRK bc of my eye shape and it legit took me a whole week to recover. I hear lasik is nothing compared to PRK. The worst part for me was one of my eyes could not tolerate contact lenses anymore (which is partly why I got it done in the first place) so I was miserable until they took the post-op contacts out.

Just make sure you have someone to drive you home from the surgery itself and plan to sleep the rest of the day. Once those anesthetic eyedrops wore off after surgery, my eyes started getting really itchy. The doc had prescribed me Ambien ahead of time, so I took that to sleep it off the rest of the day. By time I woke up, it wasn’t itchy anymore.

Had the PRK surgery 15 yrs ago. Similar results although I now need to have the cross link surgery because of a degenerative condition I have developed.
Anyone have experience in Cross Link surgery. Seems to be a similar process. I have mine in a few weeks just wondering if anyone had the cross link surgery before.

Been 15 to 20ish years for me, but doc told me he could focus my vision far away or up close, but not both. I chose distance, in my 50s, I stared on readers, but on at .75.

Best decision ever. Went to prep at around 9am. Out of the eye center by maybe 10:30am. The prep took more time than the surgery. Valium helps make it a fun time.
I took about a 4 hour nap after and could see blurry but better than my previous prescription. They give you healing drops to help because it will feel like your eyes are itchy for awhile. Felt easy to sleep that night too. Next day was a lot better. Not perfect but close. 2-3 days later it was perfect with minimal itchiness. Buy these before you go in and are done with the medicated eye drops:
I kept a pouch or two in my wallet regularly.
The only downside I've noticed is that very bright lights at night seem a lot brighter than they did before.

Make sure after the surgery you actually go home and sleep. They gave me sleep meds and still didn’t knock me out. So I was awake during the most intense pain I have felt in a long time.

2 days basically back to normal. Just slept a lot. Every time I woke up, I could see better. It was amazing and worth every penny and more.

2 days and you are good to go. Will warn you that the only downside I have experienced since having it done 11 years ago is dust and wind seem to really irritate by eyes. Worth it though.

I have really thin corneas, so I could not get the traditional lasik. Was barely a candidate for the one I did get and am now in the “most likely will have glaucoma category”
Got it about 18 years ago. Everything was blurry for about 2-3 days. Day of and day after I felt nauseous walking in a room with a tv on. After day 3, everything was damn near perfect. Took about 5-7 days before getting to 20/20 in one eye and 20/25 in the other (can make out 4/5 letters on the 20/20 line). No regressions yet

How old is she?
59.
Looking at smart phones don't help, either.

Fixes nearsighted vision. Not designed to fix need for readers due to aging process.
