I don't know, really. I read a couple of days ago that the US is the only major country where tourism is down and projected to finish the year down.

All of the above. It's not anywhere close to worth it anymore.

I go a couple of times a year for work (trade shows).

It has gotten exponentially more expensive in the past five years. I used to like Vegas and now I dread it. Drinks, food and rooms are off the chart expensive.

$12 beer
$18-30 cocktails
$100 steak
$25 hamburger

You can’t find a blackjack table under $20-25 a hand.

I think #1 is a bigger reason than people account for in these threads. Younger people just don’t have the desire to gamble anymore. Losing money just isn’t much fun.

I live in New Orleans. I can get wasted anywhere I want and bet on sports from my phone. If I want to go to the casino, Caesar’s is a quick uber away and really nice.

I love Vegas but there’s no reason for me to spend 5 grand on a weekend there when I can do everything I want closer to home.

I sit in my neighborhood bar drinking 3 dollar miller lites in front the tv with an app to bet or go to Vegas and drink 20 dollar beers with people I don’t know.

Vegas’ prices have gone out of control. I’m there on business every three months, and it is so much more expensive than it was a decade ago.

We briefly considered it for my bachelor party, but the prices were so out of control that we found a much cheaper and nicer cabin on Lake Tahoe for like half the price. So glad I didn’t do Vegas for my bachelor party regardless, but I don’t see how someone fresh from college and his friends are paying for a bachelor party in Vegas.

3 through 5 are all true statements. Are those things impacting the numbers in Vegas? It makes sense that they would, but I don’t know.

I don’t know the specific numbers or what’s included, but my anecdotal observations from visits to Vegas this summer are that the place is still packed.

Vegas used to be middle class luxury, now its priced at all levels as a luxury vacation but the types of people who take luxury vacations can see through the veneer. You have to suspend disbelief a bit to convince yourself Vegas hotels and restaurants are 5* quality.

plus all the blackjack tables are 6:5

000 roulette that seems rigged. I saw the same number hit 4 times in a row. According to chatGPT i saw a 1 in 2,313,441 event

luckily i had red 2/4 spins.

The hotels and pools seemed busy. Sphere and EDC were going on but all the tables were empty. I would have considered playing more if it weren't for the $25 mins

Hard to justify dropping a few hundred quickly on the tables when i am being charged for booze and about to spend an arm on dinner

Vegas has turned trashy and ghetto and the whole strip stinks of weed.

Also, apparently younger people don't have the desire to party hard and binge drink anymore either.

Water is $8 a pop. No fountains or any type of way to hydrate after walking from one to the other through hell. All Blackjack tables are $25 while 3/4 of them sit empty. Crazy expensive. Went for the LSU game and won’t be back anytime soon.

Its prices, by a landslide.

No one wants to go drop $500 per day on drinks and food… ridiculous
