I still push mow my grass and it does look 1000x better than someone just cutting it with a ZTR. I sometimes cut diagonally, back and forth, making a nice stripped pattern.

I think young people just don’t get it. A freshly cut yard used to look great.

All the services use either giant zero turn or large walk behind mowers with huge cutting decks on them.
You think A&M does this with a push mower to get those perfect lines

Then stop paying someone to do it and cut it yourself

Lawnmowers aren’t designed to cut curves. When you are turning you are always pulling away from what you want to cut. If they wanted to cut straight lines they could. They just want to ride and make the grass shorter with all the curves and ugliness that goes with it.

I'm an old schooler on this, too.
I still enjoy doing it myself.
I've had neighbors ask for my card!!!

Lupe is strictly forbidden from using anything but a push mower on my lawn.

I do laugh at people with zero turn mowers for yards that are the size of their living rooms

My wife took a picture of me finishing my lawn this morning at around 9am (usually finish mowing by around 8:30am or so on sundays).

Maybe, but I sure AF love hopping on my zero turn with a big 61" deck and blowing a shite ton of grass out of the side chute. It looks good enough for me and I get done pretty quickly, considering the amount of yard I have to mow.

My hustler will now your yard in 15 minutes old man

I am sure if you pay them enough they will make the lawn say anything you want.

You do realize that most southern Turf grasses don’t stripe nearly as well as northern grasses. And you can make just as good of stripes with a zero turn. In fact, their proportions look better than 21” stripes IMO.
The same people who bitch about this are probably the same ones who say the lawn guys are too expensive. So then they lower their prices. In turn, they need to cut more lawns. So they get a bigger mower and quality can suffer a little. So what is it, do you want a manicured lawn that looks like a dedicated homeowner did it? Or do you want it cheap because “anyone can cut grass.”
