Live in Palmer. Woke me up. 1st big quake experience.

Evacuated to higher ground on lazy mountain across the river for the time being

parents camp is in Nikiski, AK which is about 50 miles from the epicenter

Was in 5th floor building downtown. We had a small tremor a few weeks ago that scared the crap out of me. Everyone else just went about their business like it was no big deal. So today I tried to play it cool but it just kept shaking. I walked to the door and everyone was standing under their door jambs with a frantic look on their face. Pretty scary situation. But everyone I was with is safe fortunately.

Been thru both and both suck but like you said at least you know when you're going to get the shite kicked outta you by a hurricane.

My first was in the Sheraton Anchorage, 11th floor. Like an idiot, I jumped in the elevator.
