fricking genius. Lets surround a guy who we don't know is armed or not.

But it was ok to just shoot and kill the guy not knowing if he was armed or not, genius assessment of the situation.

Read the story, he was tased first and it did nothing. He then walked toward the cops waving a 5 foot pipe so the cops shot him.

What would you have wished they done differently? Allow him to get one good wack at a cops face while the others tackle him?

I have seen Cops, and MPs take down big guys swinging at them with crowbars, chairs, bats, you name it, but that was 30 years ago before cops were allowed to kill a suspect to avoid possible scraps and bruises.

You would assume the man was told numerous times to put the pipe down correct? If you're incapable of complying with that and do not understand the results to that failure, then I see no point in agonizing over the loss of such stupity. Did the cops HAVE to shoot? No. But there was a far simpler solution and that part isn't up to the cops. It's always lost how terribly ignorant these 'victims' are.

Y'all are such morons. Give me a crowbar or pipe and y'all try to tackle me. You will get me down but I will take one of you with me. Should the cops decide who gets hurt or killled or just let luck work it out?

Although LAPD Central Division officers have been equipped with body cameras, the cameras of the officers involved in Saturday's shooting were not turned on at the time.

Of course not.

Being a cop is supposed to be a hazardous occupation, if they are allowed to shot and kill no questions asked, anyone that does not "comply", that sure takes a lot of the hazards out of the job. The acceptance of this standard has resulted in numerous deaths of those that did not comply because they were deaf, mentally ill, confused because of health issue, or simply did not speak English. 30 years ago this guy would not have been shot, the cops would have been expected to risk injury to take the guy down without killing him.

It's because snowflakes like you would sue the PD for taking them down the way you wanted so the PD had to change the way they did training and now this is what you have.

Absolutely.

Police gave him every chance to come out of the situation alive. You charge them with a weapon in hand, possibly with others on your person you are going to die.

I don't understand why certain people(mostly from one political party) can't grasp this concept. You see the video, they give him minutes to make the right choice and would have given him longer had he not made a move toward them. However the second he did it was game over. I have 0 problem with the way this played out.

So, I volunteer you to be the guinea pig in these situations. You can be the guy to approach all these guys refusing to comply and holding weapons that MAY be deaf, mentally ill, confused, or don't speak English. How long do you estimate you'd last in that job?

You're making excuses for people being ignorant. If I'm deaf, I'm pretty sure I'd get the message with a gun pointed at me and being tased. If a German cop pointed a gun at me while speaking German, I wouldn't give a shite what he said. I'd ease up and sort it out later with my life intact. Stop making excuses

Surround him and rush him from behind.

You really don't know what you're talking about, do you?

Your screen name and your signature text have me baffled as to why you would make such comments about what appears to be violence applied in a measured and highly effective fashion.

Are you off your meds?

Dude had a weapon and charged the Cops. I don't care if it's a stick, you're gonna get shot every time.

yep... my dad was a cop in grad school. they were only allowed to use equal force to that of the perp. a night stick would have worked just fine in this case. obviously the dude was fricked up and his reflexes were slow.
