If people don't want to get shot put the weapon down and do as told.
If he was in fact tasered then they showed restraint by continuing to ask him to drop the weapon. He charges them with guns drawn. Unfortunate but the man chose this.

Righteous shoot, dumbass didn't comply, was tased which didn't disable him, he made a move with a weapon.
Only thing is I would have given him a canoe shot to finish him off but I guess LEOs can't get away with that.

Why don't cops use these anymore?
I am a firm believer that a cop well trained in the use of a baton could avoid using his gun in situations such as this, where a perp has a weapon other than a gun.
The baton is effective in defense as well as in offense.

I don't know about back then but now there is an escalation of force. Equal force is a terrible idea. I don't want our cops indiscriminately killing or hurting people, but I'm definitely in favor of them having an advantage.

So they are supposed to Chuck Norris the guy with a PR-24 using the 24 hours of baton training they get in the Academy? They used to get more but we have to make room for all the LGBTQ sensitivity training, white privilege awareness classes and other court ordered feel good training. Recruits seriously get more of that sensitivity training than they do physical training on how to handle a violent suspect.

The lack of sufficient training is a contributor to issues we have with excessive force by police. However, The biggest contributing factor is the lack of respect for LEO displayed by a certain percentage of our population. I'm not just talking about blacks either, because if you look at statistics there are more whites killed by police.

What about those that were deaf, mentally ill, suffering from a insulin reaction and confused , did not speak English, that failed to comply and were killed by police, is it just sorry we were too stupid to know?
There are at least a hundred videos on YouTube of police taking down armed suspects without using lethal force, the same could have been done here.
