Sorry if this has been discussed before…..

Came thru Lake Charles Tuesday night and it took me over an hour to go 2 miles. To make matters worse, NO ONE was working on the interstate at night. One would think that shutting down a major interstate to one lane would require them to work 24x7 until whatever they are doing gets done. Whomever in DOTD that is in charge needs to be tortured.

P.S……I didn’t take 210 because it was at a standstill as well – but maybe it was better than staying on 10.

A buddy of mine said that when he drove through, there was literally one guy working and another 4 or 5 standing around smoking or talking/texting on their cell phones.

6 years to do 1.53 miles. You think they're going to work nights and weekends?!

Is that quicker in some cases, or is it a swing at the absolute arse that is I-10 traffic through LA?

It’s an absolute clusterfrick. They’re working on I-10 now and doing maintenance to alleviate future issues with the bridge because their shutting down one lane in both directions on 210 for 2 years.

Anyone that will be passing through Lake Charles and will be here from 7-9 In the mornings and 3-7 in the evenings, you might as well prepare yourself to sit in traffic for an extra 1-2 hours.

Honestly, if you’re coming this way fromTezas, you might as well take Highway 12 to bypass this nonsense. Don’t even come this way

I thought about visiting my folks in Lake Charles this weekend. I might need to reconsider.

Yep.... what makes it sooooooooo congested is the LLCC/LALC project (I am currently working) empties 3500 employees directly on the 210 on ramp everyday at 5 pm. Plus the usual plant traffic, and the thousands of workers getting off the Sasol project same time every day. We have the worse roads in US for a reason.... our DOTD always has been dismal.

Sasol shutting down will help.

BUT, the quagmire that is Lake Charles was destined to happen.....they'll be working on 210 for two years with the specter of that death trap on I-10.

Buckle down because TxDOT can't help you.....

Before the end of the year sasol mega project and Lotte should be up and running and will reduce some of the congestion. Next three years LC will be a nightmare to navigate
