Um. Adulthood? Your parents punished you as an adult? I don’t know what to say.

I lived at home til I was 21 - and still had a curfew

My sister dropped an ‘f’ bomb in front of my mother when she was 25 and my mom popped her on the back of the head

Man look, I completely sympathize with her situation. And she was perfectly within her right to say literally anything after being burglarized and with it probably being forgiven.

But in her shoes, I don't know. I'm probably not dropping n-bombs, me. Just saying.

You?

I agree it does rather piss me off that a hear black men or women call each other that. Last time was a few weeks ago at a gas station, my nephew is about 11 asked me when we got in the car why can they call each other this but they would get upset when we would use the same word?

She did what she felt she needed to do. I still support her, and would hire her if needed in a heartbeat.

In a text message to The Advocate, Ciolino said "she understands that this is the end of her public service, but only the beginning of what she needs to do to earn the forgiveness of the community."

And a 'Woke' disciple is born. Kinda sad. I think of Drew Brees every time I see this happen.

That said, I'm already on record as saying that she - holding public office - should never have used those pejorative descriptors. Privately or no. Stupid kids who hit the 'submit' key messed up bad, as I understand things.

That’s what stands out to me. Somebody she trusted in her home filmed her and put it out there

You are an idiot if you think this is about being "offended". You dumbasses keep trying to reduce it down to "a word", apparently oblivious to the fact that the words we say have meaning based on context. In this case, the meaning of the words she said make it impossible to trust her impartiality as a judge. You can disagree with that assessment, but know that you are in the minority with that opinion.

And again, if you can't muster the strength to admit when you are wrong, apologize, and accept the consequences, you are a bitch.

It's understandable that an 11 year old doesn't yet completely understand how language works, and how context influences the meaning of a word or phrase.

Sad that this has to be explained to grown arse adults, though.

You’re ignoring context to be offended by this word. Not once have you mentioned the criminal act that was in the process of being committed against her. Your biases are showing.

I don’t think she should have apologized for her word choices, but I do agree that resigning was the right thing to do. Right or wrong, this incident casts doubt on her impartiality moving forward.

Again, it's not about being offended. It's about her ability to be impartial.

He will get what's coming to him, that's not even a question. It is also completely unrelated to the discussion. And it wasn't "in the process", they were reviewing the footage well after the fact.

So it sounds like you're saying that our choice of words can sometimes shed light on our character traits. Imagine that.
