Interesting....Lafayette' government has been the envy of a lot of other, more traditional models for a long time now.

Do you really believe that any form of government or agency doesn't already recieve enough money as it is?
The typical tax payer is robbed of over 40% of their income after income, property and sales taxes. Is that not enough?
It baffles me why any WORKING American would voluntarily vote to give the government more of his money

Bruce Conque or Mark Garber, not happy with the replies ?

Oh, and it's a NO for me on both as well. Already voted at 0900.

Politicians using a low turn out election to have their way with the voters.

They sure didn't want this on the November election where the turnout was 50%.

Tired of their manipulation!

Serious question:

What is the downside of the de-consolidation for those of us who live in the city limits?

Serious Question?
...WHy the hell is Laffy’s infrastructure complete garbage? Shouldn’t this be the emphasis?
I live outside SHV & visit Lafayette for my job weekly. I’m amazed at the complete lack of major thoroughfares around this damn town, especially for such a successful forward-thinking city gov!!! SHV is trending down but at least it’s got 220 north loop, South & North I 49, 3132 south loop, & nice parkways/green space on either side of red river. Laffy’s turning into a mini BTR!

Sheriff Garber wants a half cent sales tax to fund the all parish and city PDs in the parish. Everyone is in except for City of Lafayette Police Chief Aguillard. Looks like another move to make city residents pay for parish services to me.

I have said a million times that Shreveport's road system makes Lafayette look like Mayberry.

This 100%. Why would anyone in the city of Lafayette want to continue to be the only municipality in the parish without its own council spending its city tax money on issues within the city?

Everyone in Lafayette votes against any tax proposed.
They also vote in every tax exemption they can possibly vote in.

We will never have nice things.

I voted against the law enforcement tax. Garber did not do a good job explaining why we needed it.
