Leads me to another question, why hasn’t anything west of the river grown?
The I10 and its bridge in its current configuration has been somewhat of a barrier for growth over there. That will improve over time I think. There has been some population growth still. I grew up having lived in every part of the parish and like it just the way it is but that bridge is a bitch to use on a daily basis. I still consider it home though even though I moved. I’ll be back.

Do these places have peep shows or glory holes?
There are actually two at that same exit. The one everyone knows, and the one next to Crazy Horse Cabaret on the other side of I-10

The mental effect of a physical impediment. Most think moving out there is out of the question because of "bridge traffic".

I've always wondered how places like that stay in business in the internet age. Every time I pass by there's on car in the parking lot, which I assume belongs to the clerk. Unless the customers park at the McDonald's next door to hide their shame.
Agree 100% but yet the OT gem Lions Den outside of Lake Charles is still there. I’ve always been curious, but not risking my life to stop. lol.

Hwy 1 has exploded. Not sure what you mean. West Port Allen will always look bombed out.

Current land holdings:
95,000 acres bottomland and hardwood timber
700 acres plantation pine (loblolly) timber
13,000 acres tillable agricultural property
5,200 acres pasture, commercial, campsites, etc.
Nearly 120,000 acres TOTAL
Valuing very conservatively at $4K an acre (and I do mean very; I wouldn't be surprised if it's two or three times that) you're looking at close to half a billion dollars. No wonder those baws aren't interested in selling. They have more than their great grandchildren could ever spend.

Addis has grown. Port Allen, not so much.

190 between the river and 415 fits your description better.

There is a large truck stop just south of the interstate crowded with trucks 24 hours per day. I doubt those ol boys care to do much dildo or edible panty shopping…

That second building is on the same side of I-10 as that truck stop. It's next door to the Crazy Horse Cabaret. The strippers probably use that place for prostitution.

C'mon man...it extends south of I-10 as well. Don't be so judgmental.
