True, but I think many vendors only have magnet strip type scanners which obviously won’t work on a phone app.

It’s very convenient but also can get you into more trouble. Remember that when you hand over your phone you are giving full access to your phone.

Yeah but they couldn't see my bank accounts because they need authentication.
They don't give a shite about what mx you have on there and I don't have porn on my phone.
And the DL is only good as a back in case of loss or misplacement of wallet.
Honestly what could be on there that the cop would care about anyway?

Does something like Guided Access (on iOS) work to lock phone into single app mode requiring a passcode to see or use anything but that one app?

Why would you need to hand your phone over?
I have memorized my ID#, they should be able to pull me up in the system if I give them that.

Texas has gone the direct opposite route. My DL has a hologram of my photo as enhanced security. Can you board a plane with a digital DL?

I had to use it just this weekend. I left my wallet at a gas station amd of course it was gone when I returned.
Had to get a prescription the next day and also a withdrawal from the bank. Digital DL worked for both.
Had to answer a lot of questions for the bank withdrawal though.
