The only HOV lane I know of in LA is the one on the CCC bridge that starts in downtown NOLA and ends in Gretna. Are there any others?

I didn't realize DOTD didn't have authority to do them. That's insane.

HOV lanes seem to work in many places. I'd like to see them take it a step further, though, and due dual toll/HOV lanes like the Katy Freeway has.

I'm sure some of you will think HOV lanes are communist or something, but when it comes to traffic issues, I think we should be open to any and all ideas.

When they build new lanes. Not so much when they take an existing lane and convert...

HOV lanes are feel good measures that don't deliver what is promised.

I'd rather a semi-truck lane.

The bill in question specifically says HOV designation can't be used for existing lanes or to reduce the number of current lanes. Only for expansions.

For real. Most of the congestion in Baton Rouge, especially when it comes to stalled vehicles are semis. Semis are now trying to bypass I-10 using residential streets and they are tearing them up.

HOV lanes that also offer tollbased, single driver use seem like a great idea in BR. Only problem is you cannot expand the lanes of the current MRB

Most interstate congestion in BR is directly related to the poorly designed merging of traffic at Airline and College/Acadian/Perkins

I've often thought closing the Perkins merge between 7am and 9am would do wonders for congestion leading up to the bridge.

Building an eastbound frontage road that connects Siegen, New Pecue and Highland interchanges would help as well.

The Perkins entrance and exit ramps will be closed permanently soon as part of the I-10 expansion. To compensate, there will be major upgrades to the Acadian entrance and exit ramps.

Although they shortened my 30 mile commute, it hasn't been substantial. Was 45 minutes when using HOV, now is a little under an hour now that I can't utilize them. More often than not you still get people driving slowly in the car pool lane or people utilizing it who shouldn't be

You don't think that the cops will be all over that writing tickets? That's easy money, son!

We can’t even get people to stay out the left lane you think an HOV lane is going to work?
