I emailed my state rep about this. First time I've ever emailed a politician.

This bill doesn’t actually do anything. It just says that if the US Fedgov ever moves away from the clock change system we currently employ then LA will automatically comply with whatever change they make.

In Louisiana, sunlight:

December - 10 hours from 7 AM to 5 PM CST
June - 14 hours from 5 AM to 7 PM CST or 6 AM to 8 PM CDT

The change would mean shortest days in late December and early January would have daylight from about 8 AM to 6 PM.

I like it.

From article in OP

Should keep standard time. frick daylight saving time. Who cares if it's dark on the way to work/school. Give me more daylight in the evening

then you should want DST, not standard time.

Midday should be 12PM. If there's ten hours of daylight in the winter, five should be before noon and five should be after.

Daylight savings time gives you more light in the evening. I just wish we would stick to one or the other.

I'd rather keep switching than stick to standard time. frick standard time.

Standard time is bullshite. How does it make any sense to take a time of year where it get dark early and make it dark even earlier? DST is the tits.

I think you have that backwards. The sun sets an hour later during daylight saving time.

We'd be eastern standard time almost half the year? No thanks.
