Thought it was set to expire in September

Doesn’t mean much for me anyway I’ve been employed through the entire pandemic.

For a year? Nah.

No healthy person goes a year without work unless its by choice.

I’m not for extending it. But it’s kind of hypocritical to be scaring the frick out of people, about to go back to the mask mandate, and all that other bullshite and then say we’re going to cut the unemployment back. You have some idiots probably terrified to return to work because of our ignorant President and governor.

I agree. The inconsistencies in the messages just make me not believe anything.

or....it should make you believe that this whole thing is a scam. one of the ultimate goals is universal (guaranteed) income as designated by our omniscient government. even more people sitting on their porch all day.

Yep - people have to go back to work when the unemployment benefits cease - conveniently at the time where there is a spike in cases with a ‘new’ variant

If shut downs, mask mandates, and/or mandatory vaccinations are postponed for a while - there will be more people sick (supposedly) because they had to go back to work and then mommy government will step in - shut things down and pay people to stay home again

The nation is controlled by drama queens. I'm so tired of them. Makes you wonder how these people have lived to adulthood.

I see a ton of $15 - $20 an hour jobs posted everywhere, but I am not hearing of that many jobs paying $40 K and up. Not all the unemployed are restaurant & service industry workers. Just saying......

Now add in regular unemployment, stimulus money, EIC tax refunds for each kid, other tax incentives, and probably not having to pay rent.

Plus the unemployment is/was x2, if both parents were working

If you're smart, yes. Most bartenders and back of the house types, they'll blow it on horse in one night.

Now throw in all the other incentives, including child credit, etc.
