LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Officials announced Tuesday they are aiming for a "safe reopening" of Los Angeles County as early as July 4.

Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger expressed a goal for reopening on July 4 during a meeting with the Los Angeles County Economic Resiliency Task Force on Tuesday.

"The economic and sociological impacts created by the COVID-19 shutdown have hurt our vulnerable populations the most," Barger said in a news release. "The County, in partnership with our Task Force members and key stakeholders, is prepared to move forward with recommendations that ensure the safety and well-being of employees and customers while safeguarding public health."

I would shut it all down in SoCal until Labor Day just to be safe.

No way. It's way too dangerous for people to be out in the warm sunshine where the virus can only survive a few seconds.

Translation: as many suggested, the cure was worse than the disease....

This is really surprising. If only anyone could have foreseen this.

Holy shite not until July?

La county has less deaths and the same amount of cases as Louisiana

L.A. county has 10 million people and Louisiana has roughly 4 million. Louisiana is opening and L.A. county is “maybe” opening in over a month

Californians are fricked in the head

These idiots are playing with making California go red, and not the type of red Bernie Sanders likes.

Lived here a long time and I believe you for the majority of people here. However, close to 40% of CA voters did not vote for the bull dyke Clinton. There are a lot of Patriots here too but the Liberals are always the loudest and, of course, get the most press. The protest within the state from Redlands to Sacramento are making the Govt nervous and the protests are grossly under reported. No matter what, if the good guys do not take back the media after all of this, we are all screwed.

They’re about to get left in the dust by the open states and Trump & the Senate are objecting to continuing the economic benefits

Hilldawg won 8.74M votes in 2016.
In 2016, 39 million people lived in California.

The math checks out.
