Saying self-made to me means you took a nothing to no one brand and made it huge. She already had a following before she started the make-up line and knew idiot tweens and teens would gush for her stuff only because of who she is. Doing what Daymond John did with FUBU and what she did with her makeup line are not the same.
I guarantee if you started a successful business libs would say you werent self made because you went to a private school and were born with privelage
We all have more advantages than some, and less advantages than some. However, what we do with those advantages is still up to us and nothing should be taken away or no qualifiers added for using them to make ones own situation better

Using your likeness and position to make money is not being "self-made". I am not hating on the girl because I would love to have been worth that kind of money at that age or any age but let's not kid ourself and act like she had to go store to store and sell her product until the company finally made it.

That’s not what makes her worth 900m. Her business (of which she owns 100%) is valued by Forbes at several hundred million, and the rest of her net worth is from endorsements and other things.

But I'd imagine the informal definition for most people is closer to:
"someone who became successful despite not having any advantages or significant help."
as opposed to...
"someone who became successful by leveraging their family's money and fame."

They are not one in the same. My "privilege" doesn't mean anything in the business world.
Again, I am not mad in the least about her success, but she didn't have to go through some huge grind to get this business off the ground.

I wouldn't call that self made. Kylie didn't build her brand, she just used her face to sell the product that Seed made.

You seem to be operating under the delusion that making good business decisions = self made. She used her fame, that was largely brought on from her sisters, to catapult a brand that she didn't create.
She has made some great business decisions. That does not make one "self-made".
