Kudos to ULL (Proud LSU alum with a daughter going to ULL)

I posted earlier that my daughter with high functioning autism was accepted at Eastern Il for college. We are proud that she was able to over come many obstacles.
My wife and I are LSU alums. She was in the marching band in the late 80s. We lived in Texas until 2010 and moved to Illinois.
Caroline applied to Eastern Il, Indiana St and ULL. She wanted to attend ULL bad because I am from Lafayette and she loves the warmer climate, food and culture. She didn't have a foreign language which is a La requirement and her ACT score (22) didn't allow her as an out of state admit.
The recruiter requested we petition for an exception and they admitted her. Really, really strange part.... Since her parents were graduates of a La public university, she is treated as a "legacy" and gets an out of state tuition scholarship. Her college costs will be 5K a year cheaper than Eastern or Indiana St.
I know a lot of ULL crap has been thrown out this week. I am very thankful they worked hard to help my daughter get her dream college. Kudos to them
I still ain't wearing no ULL crap though!

I didn't wear any Indiana University stuff when my oldest went there for her undergrad. I don't blame you though. LSU alums don't do a lot to endear themselves to ULL. You have a great school and lot to be proud of. Caroline was blown away by her visit.

You can just get a barb wire tattoo that will only be visible in shirt sleeves.
And congrats to your daughter.

I really don’t like when people post personal stuff about their families

I(and prob OP) dont really give a flying frick. This thread is brag-worthy and OP should be commended on his parenting skills and not worrying about whats trashy or not like window lickers such as yourself post about on here.

As good as half of the people I know who certainly don't have ASD. Congrats to you guys as parents and congrats to her, she earned it.

Thank you for posting.
I posted in your old thread something similar, but i will again. As a parent with a kid with special needs (including autism) i really enjoy hearing success stories. Many days are difficult and this gives me hope.
your daughters journey is just begining, enjoy the ride with her!
