The day BK was arrested, the account was completely deleted

How would he have been able to delete it after he was arrested?

If he never left the sheath at the scene would they have still caught him? I’m sure they would eventually but his dna was what got him caught.

I don’t know. That’s what I said in my post. However, it was curious.

The answer is yes. They had his car on the area before the DNA confirmation. That’s what led them to getting the DNA. It would have been circumstantial without the DNA. That’s my understanding.

Don’t forget about the cell phone pings off the towers. How it was turned off and then back on later on the way back to Pullman Also, it pinged the next morning at 9 am near 1122 King Road. More circumstantial evidence.

They may have still got him but the DNA profile was uploaded to a genealogy website which showed who some of his relatives were then a family tree was made from there. FBI narrowed it down to Kohberger as a possibility at that point since he lived in the area.

That’s when he was headed back home and DNA collected from the family garbage showed it was likely from the father of the killer. Cheek swab later showed an exact match. So once they knew who he was that’s when the cellphone data was collected and matched up.

I believe there are laws against gathering all the cellphone data first and trying to determine a suspect from there. There has to be something else as an identifier first. Anyway his cellphone was off that night. The rest was from weeks before and the day after but so were likely thousands of other cellphones.

Good stream from Andrea.

Still unanswered questions. I believe he did it because he said he did it. The press conference was terrible and opened more questions.

Kohberger is going to lie but when he said he did it, you suddenly believe him? Hmm....odd.

Why can't these police departments just run clean fricking investigations?

I was waiting for trial so I admittedly don't know all the facts at this time.

In watching the plea hearing again, I noticed how intently BK listened to the prosecutor's timeline etc...

The thing that got this rolling was the security guard at the university remember? He’s the one who put in the tip that a student at school had that car. To my knowledge, that was the first link.

The Washington State campus policeman? One sent in info of the Pennsylvania vehicle matching description of car that was registered for campus and by whom, and I think on almost the same day (later at night and maybe into next morning) another campus policeman driving thru campus apartment parking lot noted seeing matching vehicle in parking lot with Washington plates that were new after running them. I think they were sent in separately.

What was not clear at the time of the arrest warrant was whether that info made it to the point of being reviewed by the main investigators with follow ups before the genealogy DNA found a family tree of the killer or was it reviewed after the fbi or whoever found out Kohberger was a part of the killer’s family tree and in the area.

I have not paid enough attention to recent releases to know if a more specific timeline has been shown on what exactly happened first.

He eventually would have become the suspect without the DNA on sheath once car reports were looked into including Pennsylvania only requiring or plate like the car in videos and phone records gotten, but a conviction or guilty plea would have been a lot more difficult.

I believe he was a security guard, not an actual cop. Maybe a parking guard like the dbags who used to ticket us at LSU all the time

I liked how she said, “I was fueled by seeing the rage on his face” and “Man, was he mad.”

I’ve watched her impact statement 4x. His demeanor never changed, but the camera doesn’t catch ever facial detail either. Watching it, you had to know he was pissed the whole time, but to have confirmation from her seeing him up close and personal makes me happy!

I think he felt fulfillment listening to almost everyone else’s statement especially Dylan’s, but Alivea’s statement will live within him forever. Damn, it’s that good!!!

A family friend was a sheriff's investigator and went to interview Henry Lee Lucas hoping to clear some cold cases. He spent 10 minutes with him, cut the interview short and told the handlers "this guy is a liar and if you believe him he'll embarrass you."

Wasn't he the guy who was famous for confessing just because he liked going on field trips and getting to eat hamburgers outside of prison?

i don't think he was ever taken out of prison, but he was given special meals and privileges...he confessed to almost 600 murders, and they were all taken at face value until people started to realize that he had been nowhere near the locations where most of them took place...

Was this the St. Tammany Parish SO? Their investigator had the same experience and same opinion.

They’ve started releasing crime scene photos. Most of these are blurred, but you can see blood for sure if you zoom in (NSFW?)
