I seem to recall that the Great Reset started getting a lot of attention early on in the pandemic.
I try to not to too sucked in to right wing tinfoil, but I don't even think it's conspiracy theory anymore that a lot of leaders like Trudeau and Macron are WEF puppets. Why did Trudeau crush trucking protestors who did nothing wrong? Why is there are all of a sudden this movement to destroy European farmers? Why is Biden all of a sudden hot on rolling out executive orders on climate change? There is definitely some frickery afoot.

I think some of that (European farmers) is just amplified because of the information structure of the echo chamber. Like, that climate change plan was put in change years ago and that portion of it is just being implemented now.
That was Covid authoritarianism, pure and simple.
I think he's just facing pressure, especially from the left wing. Ok when I say "he" I mean his inner circle/admin, b/c Biden himself isn't doing shite. But they were elected as a public moderate while promising more extreme measures to allies behind closed doors. Biden has not paid that debt yet and had had other attempts (BBB) thwarted.
There is also the practical-political issue, with it being clear that the elections in November look to be devastating for the DEMs. It's now or never to push whatever they can through before the GOP takes the House and starts impeaching everyone
