In April, during a packed courtroom, Gad Black erupted during proceedings, yelling about justice and freedom and saying he wanted to represent himself while also saying he wanted to confess.

“I don’t want to testify; I want to confess. I’m coming to bring my side to the light. Why I’m so angry as a Black man - but I’m Black Jesus,” Black said in court.

Nothing about this is new.

And I just read the motion to reopen the competency issue (he had previously been deemed competent to proceed), and considering the utterly batshit things he was saying on the record, that’s getting kicked to Jackson 99 times out of 100. Just not worth the headache on appeal when you can hit the pause button for 6-12 months and then safely convict him.

Yea, it kinda makes it worse that he is mentally incompetent and committing violent murder. We can never trust that he won't be violent in public.

Which is why he will never be allowed free in public unless/until he is deemed competent to proceed and beats the charge, which isn’t happening.

And for those who think he’s going on vacation, nearly every client I ever had go to Jackson begged to be brought back to EBRPP.

You display an intriguing lack of understanding about the perception of this based on recent events in Charlotte, UK, etc. This is a powderkeg about to explode.

1st arrest?

Not at all. He has a history of trying to run police officers over with his vehicle.

From 2014:

quote:

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A man believe to be on drugs is locked up on a slew of charges after leading police on a dangerous chase with his 9-year-old son in the vehicle Saturday night, according to investigators.

The Baton Rouge Police Department reported Gad Black, 30, of Baton Rouge, led officers on a chase from Baton Rouge to Baker.

quote:

According to the probable cause report, Black was driving carelessly and playing loud music with the windows down around 8:15 p.m. The document stated a police officer tried to pull him over, but he sped off. Officials said Black went off the road, swerved into oncoming traffic, drove against traffic, ran red lights and hit another vehicle on purpose. They added he was pursued by police cars and a police helicopter.

"The defendant was swerving back and forth across lanes, playing loud music and dancing wildly inside the vehicle," the report stated. "The defendant also hung outside the window and would flip his middle finger."

Investigators reported Black swerved across two lanes and tried to hit two marked police cars in the opposite lane near Plank Road and Denham Street. They added he had a clear path between two vehicles stopped on Plank at Cannon Street, but swerved over and hit the front driver's side of a truck that had four people inside. It is believed he was trying to damage the truck to help him get away.

Police said they were able to put down spike strips and Black's vehicle eventually stopped on Thomas Road in Baker. However, they added he refused to surrender after getting out of the vehicle. They said K-9 "Tag" was after him after several tries to get him to follow police instructions. Reports indicate "Tag" grabbed Black on the ankle and the suspect started punching the dog in the head.

quote:

According to the report, when an officer tried to grab the suspect by the arms, he punched the officer in the face. It added he continued to resist and fight until several other officers tackled him to the ground and handcuffed him.

Police said Black's 9-year-old son was found in the front passenger seat curled up in a fetal position after the chase. They added the child was visibly shaken and scared.

The report also stated Black was taken to the hospital, where blood was taken for a toxicology analysis. Investigators said they suspect he was under the influence of some type of drug.

That was a scant 12 yrs ago... he shouldn't have been free already- especially considering the danger he put his own minor son in much less everything else.

THIS is the problem.
