Kids running down hall way screaming at hotel

Staying at a Fairfield Inn all week while visiting family. Small kids about 3 years old began running and screaming in hall way about 8 AM. Apparently a group of families with young kids are all staying on this floor. About 9AM one of the dads started chasing them playfully and yelling like a bear or something. I was fully awake, but it was beyond the point of being inconsiderate. I opened my door along with several other people on the hall to see what was going on. My 23 year old son opened his door and politely asked if they could keep it quieter since some people were still asleep. The dude, who looks like the type of guy that wears shirts that say “Affliction”, said something back but I didn’t pay attention. I assumed the man apologized and went on about my business to get coffee in the lobby. Turns out he told my son that maybe they shouldn’t sleep so late and accused him of waking them up at 11:30 PM. The fire department was called last night due to a guest medical emergency at 11:30 PM, but we had nothing to do with it. Kids are still playing in hall way even after someone complained to the staff. Families all look clean cut, totally unexpected response. What is wrong with people?

He mudchecked both you and your son. How’s that feel?

Not a bad option considering the cost of two rooms for 5 nights.

They just want to be friends

For some reason that I can't begin to fathom, some adults believe that keeping the small children in their family happy is literally the most important thing in the entire world. A few years ago, a kid in our family was running around at Easter spraying people (fully dressed for Easter) with a water gun. When he came around for a second pass, I told him that if he didn't stop, I would take it from him. My father accused me of "ruining (the kid's) day". When I told him that I didn't much care if I did or not, but that the adults didn't want to be sprayed with a water gun again, my dad seemed genuinely confused that his "but this will make the child unhappy" argument didn't immediately win the day.

I am dead serious. Gather a group of Fairfield goers and jump him at the ice machine.

Only solution is to bang on their door around 1:00am and wake those kids up then go to be knowing that family will be awake. Then they will sleep late.

Guess we missed out on getting to post on the several “trashy family Christmas conflict” posts already on here. LOL

So complain again. If that doesn’t work, see if Fairfield has online Customer Service chat and they’ll likely get it rectified.

I stay in Fairfields periodically and they're fine. Given it was the Christmas season, little kids, one or two nights, I'd have probably just let that one slide unless it kept going on and on.
"Institutional Issues" need to be dealt with by the institution, in this case the hotel. I'd have called the front desk and let them know about the noise issue. It's their job to make it an enjoyable experience for you. Hell, worse case scenario, ask them to comp your night.
Too many crazies out there in my book these days to try and be civil and ask people not to do something. Some are so entitled, they'll probably jack you up and put you on World Star. Rare to get an apology or attempt to modify the behavior.

Sounds like a situation where I would pull the fire alarm tonight around 130
