Is one of your in-laws an attorney or are they an ultra-high net worth couple?
Not lawyers, but yeah they have assets, but we also have their only grandkids and there won't be others.
My parents have more assets and we've never been down this road. But then again, my dad had me on a ladder on a front-end loader replacing tin roofing when I was 12... sooooo

Please let us have a look at this consent form
Your pediatrician almost certainly has them. All it does is name who you approve to make decisions for specific kids. I would be okay providing a note, I just don't want to fricking go to a notary over something that seems so trivial.

Your kids wont get medical treatment without it.
Unless documents are witnessed and notarized maybe not even then.

My parents never thought to ask but it’s really not a terrible idea if they’re keeping them and you’re out of town.

A phone call with us on the end doesn't suffice?

If there is an emergency situation, they most definitely will.

We have never done this or even considered it, but the in-laws are keeping the kids for the first time in 17 years and have asked for one.
I first read this as they watched your kids one time 17 years ago and got an extra chuckle at the idea of having medical consents for your now adult (18+) children.

I’ve never heard of this, and I’m a woman.

Our oldest is 16 and I'd leave him alone, but we do have younger kids, too. That, and he can be a butthole to the siblings lol.

Extreme. Like Cajun said, if they need actual emergency treatment, they're going to get it. I never once did it, even when mom and I were overseas for a week at a time.
You say they're not the sex change type, but what about the "get the v4ccine just to be safe" grandmother? That's the biggest risk I'm worried about.
Leave a copy of your health insurance and dental cards, the name of their pediatrician and dentist, the pharmacy you use (CVS, Walgreens, etc.) That should make them feel better than asking you to sign medical power of attorney to make non-emergency decisions for your kids.
I'm getting more creeped out as I type.

My same response. I just wanted to see how far off base I was.
The probably saw some random Facebook post about how risky it is not to and some kid died because the grandparents didn’t have it when babysitting
I doubt it’s anything terribly sketchy from their end (not knowing them at all and just projecting my own paranoid parent that will lose sleep over random social stories)

They are looking to cut your son’s dick off so they can brag to their lib friends about their tranny grandson … I mean granddaughter

They gonna bring the kids to the gender doctor

Grandparents: "Pull the plug. We have the medical consent forms and can't get in touch with his parents. It's a tough call, but the right decision."
Doctor: "He's got a cold and you've only been here for 20 minutes..."

I am 100% positive it's not sketchy, and I agree it's based off something they heard or saw.
The kids ride the bus. Their doctor is literally our friend.
We know all the neighbors. The oldest can drive. I am just not that worried but yeah, we will leave the list.
