You could tell this was not going to end well by the way he held his glove before that ball got there.

My dumbass got smoked pitching BP in HS. Never raised my head, went for a loose ball beside me and my tobacco chaw was swallowed. Knocked my arse out.

Different times, they dragged me to a dugout and continued practice. I was fine in about 10 minutes.

How long has the HR Derby been like this. It’s been a while since I watched. I remember them getting 12 outs. Also remember getting a set number of pitches?

Can’t continue in this format. Some stud player is gonna get hurt. Fans here were sad that Yordan was not in it. frick THAT. Oblique strain? Swinging a bat 60-80 times in 3-4 minutes is a terrible idea. The kids in the field and fans in the stands not having time between watching a ball land and a second one coming is a terrible idea. Fans down the 3rd base line pole must have left like they were under a shelling attack.

Wish they would stop putting people in the outfield at all. It annoys me watching idiots trying to catch fly balls that have no business being out there

Yesterday morning, T-Bob and Hester were talking about if this had ever happened before. I hope the little dude is ok.

After this I expect that kids in the field are not allowed going forward. Waiver, schmaiver, all joking aside, it’s just bad news.

Some of the kids they ran out there seemed very unathletic / maybe even special needs. I made a comment that that was kinda dangerous. Didnt see this happen though.

All I hear is my dad screaming. "Keep your eye on the ball"

They'll all be out there in those goofy facemask next year.

Stipulations: 16 and older and high school caliber kids.
They need to lower the volume of kids. Its dangerous when you have too many gloves.
They should rotate kids off and on the field. Like 3-4 groups of kids.

Major Leaguers hitting baseballs and there are kids out there. Keep doing this and eventually a kid will be killed. Simple as that.

Mom and dad sue MLB, the stadium, ESPN, the beer and hot dog vendors and this time next year the outfield will be devoid of kids trying to snag the balls that don't make it over the walls.

Unfortunately this is probably true. They've probably already been contacted by ambulance chasers.
