Samyang Buldak ramen was the subject of a different challenge a few years ago. They sell the sauce itself in a bottle. I'll mix some 50-50% with salad dressing sometimes, or dump it undiluted all over chicken gizzards. It's good, but it'll kick your arse for sure. The listed ingredients include both caustic soda and hydrochloric acid.

They go together just fine and leave salt (in this case table salt) and water plus the heat of neutralization.

You'd think they'd cancel each other out, but I swear they're both in there:

Thanks, today I learned that caustic soda and sodium hydroxide are the same thing and also lye.

Gay.

I did it while sitting in traffic before the last hurricane.

Was it hot? Definitely.

Did a kid die from it? No. Even if he is as gay as babytac

It's insane hot. Anyone in a restaurant who had worked with capcasium powder, it's coated in it. Honestly getting pepper sprayed hurts less than this chip. And I only had a piece of one we split 4 ways.

No it isn't. The chip is not 14 plus million Scoville unit.

The toe of Satan however that mother f***** is hot

This is a little different because it is a manufacturer challenge, the single chip is sold specifically as a challenge. It also may have even predated Tik Tok since they have been around for a while

Fair point.

While there’s no official Scoville rating on these things, estimates vary from 1.6 to 2.2 MILLION.

For reference, regular Tabasco is 3700. A fresh jalapeño maxes out at 8K.

Now, to make matters worse, what they use in these products is capsaicin extract, not even real peppers. I’ve had an extract sauce that was “only” 300K and I’d rather bite into a Ghost listed at 1M. It’s a different kind of unnatural chemical reaction from these extracts.

TLDR a chip coated in extracts rated up to 2M Scoville is straight up industrial poison.

The less spicy foods affect you there is a higher chance you simply don't have as many TRPV1 receptors as other people.
