Hulklogan, you are a perfect example of this. You have been trying to lose the weight forever. If you would have just did the IIFYM approach and stuck to it, you would be much further along.

The same could be said for any diet.. If I just stuck to it it'd work!

I think what I'm doing now is going to stick. It's not IIFYM, but I am just logging all of my food and keeping myself to a basic set of principles. Truth be told I've lost 13 pounds in 2 months without a single ounce of working out. I really want to get back on the workout pain train, though.

but hulklogan is an example I am speaking of. He been trying keto on and off for like a two years and has only lost like 30lbs and is still big.

Now this simply isn't true. I did keto for 9-10 months, lost almost around 90 pounds, then went to Paleo and got down to having lost 113 pounds total, I went from 363 at my heaviest to 250 at my lowest. I fell off of the tracks and put on about 40 pounds after a couple of years of not really paying attention. Which is why I'm back to the PUTTADAFORKDOWN thread.. but a different approach this time. But I'm still 60+ pounds less than my heaviest weight.

I think that keto causes hair loss because all the people that do keto are bald

I have no idea who all sucks I just notice many on here are always asking about this diet or that diet instead of just learning and understanding principals.

I think you are shortchanging people on here. I have seen very few saying they can eat all the peanut butter they want and walk for thirty minutes and lose weight. Most understand the basics of macros.

maybe I am. Just seems like for the last 3 years its the same people saying they are getting back on keto or this or that diet and they have been trying for a year to lose wait, this or that.

maybe I am just jaded and selling people short on here. But to my credit it seems most on here admit they are skinny fat. I think that was rockets point too, he just like stirring shite while doing it.

So if I was eating 3000 kcals but high protein I would have seen the same results? Go back.

Eating 1800 calories, absolutely

The reason keto is working for me is because it helps me keep my kcals at a reasonable level without wanting to kill someone.

Yea, I get that.

I don't self tan, shave my chest, or wear a thong on stage. I could not give a shite about 2% of body fat.

Cool. That wasn't the point though. For what you're shooting for, keto doesn't really do anything special, at least above marginal values. It works for you, and it fits your lifestyle, so that's great.

The issue I have is the cult that seems to follow Keto that seems to believe it's some magical diet. You don't seem like one of those guys

I'd agree with most of your last two post. Can you explain to me what a "balanced diet" is?

Poor Hulk, we are all behind him, but he jumped off keto a while back, he may be lower carb, but not keto. He may be more insulin resistant than he thinks. Since he felt like crap without

quote:

The diet is only good if you stick to it and most seem to come off of it and binge

Doesn't this include all ways of eating?

I think leangains is a solid program. How many carbs does it take to back load?

You're entitled to your opinion, but here is a typical weekday for me:

And then I splurge on weekends:

Don't come in here telling me you eat like this more often than not. If you did you wouldn't weigh 300 lbs. Sorry dude. But it is time to get honest with yourself.

This has been how I have been eating the last 2 months. That's all I've been saying in this thread. That's why I've lost weight again since January.

Of course if I ate this way my whole life I wouldn't be fat. Of course when I'm not paying attention to my diet, logging my food, and just leaving myself to my own vices I don't eat like this.

You won't find me lying to myself. I know I'm fat and I got this way by eating way too much too often, coupled with a sedentary job and lack of exercise.

You can lie to me all you want, but if you ate that way even since January you'd be down 20 pounds.

I'm down 13.. not far off, considering I had to make it through two weddings. And I most definitely pigged out way hard at the wedding receptions. Who doesn't?

Well, that is accurate and I have the same thoughts. I don't need to eat quinoa every day to lose weight. You can still enjoy what you eat in portions.

But, I think most people can agree "healthier" foods generally have less calories while "unhealthy foods" have more. So sure he can eat only twinkies, but for every twinkie he eats, he could probably eat 3-5 salads.

you would be much better off doubling that protein intake and lowering the fat some.

777 doesn't. People with commitment don't. Your results over three years show no commitment to not being 300 lbs.

ETA: I don't see this in your food logs:

quote:

Captain and diet tastes like vanilla coke. Goes down real smooth. But that's really sweet, so typically I like to do bourbon with a splash of soda and lemon or lime. Vodka with soda and lemon is good, also.

Tito's or Ketel One martini on the rocks.

I've been drinking more wine, although I think that would mess up ketosis.
