So now you're telling me Nathan Bedford was not a historical figure?

quote:

It comes after a student was videotaped in a Ku Klux Klan costume on a school bus.

Pulaski County Superintendent Patrick Richardson told us this stems from an assignment on historical figures and middle school students dressing up as historical figures.

One student was going to dress up as the first grand wizard of the Ku Klux Klan, Nathan Bedford Forrest, and the teacher gave the middle school student permission.

I mean, the teacher probably should've used better judgment there

This teacher only did this controversial act to get her 15 minutes of fame. What a f--ked up world we live in now, where everyone wants to go to extremes to get in the spotlight?

I have a couple questions...
A. Where did he get the uniform from?
B. how did said uniform fit a kid?

Not a historical figure anyone would want to look up to. Definitely a sign of what is taught or deemed permissible inside the home. The teacher is obviously pathetic for this.

There's not enough information to know who's really in the wrong here, but the teacher should have had a little more common sense on this one. I'm betting a kid dressed as a Confederate officer would have garnered the same/similar attention.

Yeah I have a lot of questions here. I can see the argument if this was done in a correct way, but given how attention whoreish everyone is, I doubt that's what happened.

To be fair, it said hero or historical figure. As disgusting as I find racists and other terrible people to be, they can still be considered historical figures.

at the expense of this kids future and knew exactly what would happen to the kid and she did not care that she was risking the kids life in doing it as well as ruin his future

We had a dude dress up like Hitler during homecoming week at my high school, and no one batted an eye. They even put a picture of him in the costume in the yearbook.
