Its always more "time" isn't it? The goal post shifting going on in connection with these shut downs is truly something to behold. Waiting on a decline in cases is one thing in a place like NY that is overrun with cases. It is another thing in states like KY and AL that really never had that many and whose hospital capacity never came close to being tested.

Seriously, this counts as grim? There are a lot of states who would love to only have 273 cases in a day. Sounds to me like Kentucky is handling this thing really well, and should be able to open up asap.
But this does remind me of an article i saw being shared on social media a couple a days ago. I don't remember the title verbatim, but something like "Florida sees new peak in cases and deaths just 2 days after reopening beaches". All throughout the comments were people basically panicking, Florida is killing off its citizens, stay home unless you want to die, etc. Im just like does anyone not have common sense, if there was a spike from opening beaches you would not notice in fricking 2 days.
I dont think I realized just how serious some people are panicking over this. Don't get me wrong, I am not one of those "muh flu!" people. In fact I have spent maybe too much time on here arguing with people on how this is not your everyday flu, and that Covid is even more dangerous. But alas, on the otherside of the spectrum, people truly think this is the bubonic plague we are dealing with. It's ridiculous.

It's the result of people thinking that there is a one-size-fits-all approach to dealing with issues in this country, and usually that one size is dictated by either one of the coastal urban population centers.
In this case it was NYC, so the entire country must react the same way NYC does.
