That's what I'm hearing as well.

The teacher was fired. Wtf ??

Well, in this day and age, the original messages are not a good look for any employer and anything you do, however private it may seem, can easily get back to your employer via the power of social media and smartphones.

And apparently some third party saw the spray painted fence as an invitation to add their own message. I would hope that someone in the household now realizes that opening up your fence as a canvas for spray painted messages was not such a good idea after all.

She can always lawyer up and fight it. But any future employer may be questioning the judgment skills.

Could be worse though. Not like she came out the house swinging a bat followed by waving a gun around.

How is saying "We All Matter" and "Blue and White Lives Matter Too" improper for a teacher to write on her own fence? Would a black teacher be fired if she had a "Black Lives Matter" bumper sticker on her car? I highly doubt it.

So that would appear to confirm that the "Kill All !#$!#@$" was added later. I saw someone on Facebook say that the blue/white/all lives matter bit had been up for weeks.

I can tell you when I passed by, the "kill all" was not on the fence, but the other stuff was. Don't know how long it had been up. It definetly gave me the eye-roll, whereas the more recent /vandalized message would have been much more alarming.

This is all considering that it was really vandalism, who knows if that is true or not.

How many people you know that spray paint messages on their own fence?

Is this common behavior outside of immediately following a natural disaster?

It doesn't matter what you or I think. Employers can and will fire people for this, and there is often little recourse.

And at this point, everyone should understand that.

It's not fair... but that's where we are in July 2020.

Fair point. I gather that the homeowner's husband owned up to the original messages but ain't nobody in that house gonna claim the follow up message and I seriously doubt anyone will ever come forward to claim that one.

This is not real life. Anything that "undermines" or isn't in 100% agreement with BLM is racist now. Unbelievable.

quote:

While they don’t contain profanities or racist slurs, supporters of the Black Lives Matter movement protesting racism and police brutality take offense to the messages like those that had still been left on the fence of Dritschel’s home. White supremacist groups began campaigning to popularize phrases such as “White Lives Matter” and “All Lives Matter” almost immediately after the 2014 police killing of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, sparked the Black Lives Matter movement, according to the Anti-Defamation League. Meanwhile, supporters of Black Lives Matter argue that “Blue Lives Matter” undermines the movement's focus on racism and equates the choice to enter the profession of law enforcement with the hardships Black people face because of their race.

Unfrickingbelievable

And everyone should understand that social media and smartphones will make you famous in a hurry so you best choose carefully what you put out there for the world to see.

We all matter?
Blue lives matter?

Removing a teacher for these comments?

It is a private school so whatever, but firing someone for those terms is extreme in my book.

I think the following is what really got her. The soy boy author of the article is trying to group All Lives Matter and Blue Lives Matter in with this which is bullshite.

quote:

The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office is treating the most offensive message — which read “#F**k All N*****s” in red paint — as the work of an unknown vandal. Someone had apparently pressure washed it off the fence early Tuesday evening, hours after pictures of it surfaced on social media.

If you have ever met the people who run KF none of this should shock you.

I wonder how many AA's are enrolled at KF.

Kehoe-France is good for one thing-- summer camp.

A regular school is and always has been beyond them. Which is why you never hear about them in terms of academics or athletics.

And one of the Frances was appointed to the Superdome Commission by John Bel Edwards. I went to one meeting he chaired to find out about the Zephyrs/Babycakes breaking the lease. He's in over his head in that as well.

found the husband (the one who wrote "blue/white/all lives matter" on the fence) on Facebook

Dude needs to lock down his Facebook page.

Seems like a solid decision maker to me:

FFS, I feel bad for this teacher. Her dude doesn't have enough sense to lock down his Facebook page let alone watch what he says.
