KADN probably made the best effort in lafayette area

Their ratings all suck compared to years ago.
If you own a business and have had a sales person from a local news station reach out, entertain them for a few minutes. The prices they throw out there is laughable. [From first hand accounts dealing w/ Shreveport, Alex & Lafayette stations]
Their sales pitch is designed for people that have no clue how online reach & viewership works.

Times are tough in many vocations
I'm a dinosaur in print media. Still hanging in there.

the few who still have jobs at KADN after 19 let go
News (5): Marcelle Fontenot, Jim Hummel, Jeff Horchak, Drakkar Francois, Taylor Traiche,
Weather (2): Dan Romano and Micheal Corley
Sports (1): Will Herrin
Early AM and noon news programs axed. Only 9:30pm news remains.
Based on the news media industry and current economy, this will probably be the norm for all stations owned by Media Corporations.
The same shake-up and "restructuring to save money" happened years ago @ 1420am Lafayette. New ownership came in, changed names to The GOAT, and all the local radio media staff were let go - Kevin Foote, Scott Prather, Steve Peloquin, Jay Walker, Billy Ryckman, Mr. Bitter.

Mr. Bitter.
J. Perot quit a few years before any of this happened. He and Foote should do a show together b/c it's always hilarious.

I will listen to his morning show over anything else. I’m lucky to just turn my radio on in my truck and have it local.

There’s no afternoon news either? 5pm and 6pm?

love me some Foote .... 1 of his hundreds of great melts and moments was when he did a Facebook LIVE during the 2017 WS Astros vs. Dodgers. Believe it was Gm 6 he almost had a heart attack, and Gm 7 he was crying after the win. Kevin is a good dude

That new African American weather person on KATC is atrocious

Did anyone ever stop to consider that they just may not have been Lafayette material?

It's all good, Clean.

I mean, I'm pretty sure it was before...

It's a sad shell of what it used to be
The name change happened at same time as their disassociation with ESPN- not sure who made that decision. 103.7 the game picked up the ESPN affiliation a few months later

KPEL-FM is a news/talk format with no actual news personnel. Outside of the major markets, that is the norm these days in the U.S.A.

That's Asian reporter Trisha Takinawa.
