27 upvotes for this thread is one of the most pathetic things I've ever seen on TD.

And I'm not a fan of cops at all.

It happens more often than you would think.

One of the motormen working at my corner got hit Saturday as well on Lee Drive, albeit not to the extent as the one referenced in the original post.

He got on another bike and finished working his (14) hour day. He probably should have went home, but he said he did not want to let anyone down.

I know, right? I happened to be trapped on Nicholson between Violet and Aster right after this happened. I could see cars jumbled everywhere past the barrier south of Aster, and I even saw the ambulance leave going north on the southbound side.

If this post gets deleted and I disappear, remember me...!

What the media chooses to broadcasat/publish daily versus what really happens everyday would truly shock you.

I was walking on nicholson and came upon the scene 5 minutes after it happened. an SUV on the side of the road in the grass, a bumper on the ground, a totaled motorcycle laying down in the grass, and a person up against that building sitting down indian style counting money or something or messing with their wallet. it was a female. the cops had their vehicle lights all pointed at this person that was sitting against the wall.

cops everywhere. must have been 12 of them. I watched firetrucks, ambulances, and motorcycles go down nicholson going at least 80 mph trying to get to him. nicholson was backed all of the way up to tiger stadium headed to downtown up until this accident where folks were rubber necking it. sad situation, but ive seen the way those motorcycle cops drive, everyone has. it doesn't surprise me at all. don't know how the accident happened but I saw the aftermath.

A BR cop I know told me that it's not unusual for them (BRPD) to request stories not be reported.

So, the question on this one is, why?

Can you give any details at all? Was the driver a vip? Was it the car they were escorting?
