You people are idiots. Most homeless people are homeless for a reason. Mental illness being a major one. It is a sad situation
They got people who fought for this country who live out there because of their state of mind and everyone just wants to do away with them?
Have some compassion.

He said the National Guard would deliver equipment and other supplies and police would help with security in every floor and at all exits to make sure the homeless guests remain isolated the whole time.
Presumably with live ammo.

Probably not the National Guard.

"hello, room service? yes, would please send a couple of crack pipes, a lighter, and a bologna sandwich up to room 338? oh, and also a bottle of chilled Andre. yes, thank you"

Plus, I am sure the city is indemnifying the hotel for damage.

This is a horrible idea. They will absolutely destroy those rooms. Anyone who has spent any time dealing with the homeless population knows the ones who are living under bridges are beyond saving and cannot be saved. They're there because they're addicts who steal and fight with no desire to improve their situation. They essentially steal from retailers, acquire drugs, and get high until they eventually OD or get stabbed by another bum and die.
Not to mention the city will surely be putting them together in rooms, meaning there will inevitably be a stabbing or three resulting from this little Destroya experiment.

Going to have to replace carpet, furniture, pipes(they're gonna put all kinds of stuff down toilet).
What makes you think this?
I cannot believe anyone would actually post this question.

Can you imagine the ones that have to stay and be quarantined and dont get their drugs and get dope sick..then start puking and shitting all over the rooms....
You're assuming someone will actually be in charge of keeping the new hotel residents in the hotel or monitoring those who are quarantined.

What is the hotel going to do when it is time to kick them out and the homeless people, I dunno, refuse to leave? Does the hotel's GM, Adam Turni, really think these people are going to observe social distancing, No Smoking signs, and acceptable societal norms during their stay?
How about after they remove these esteemed guests aka the latest members of the Hilton Honors program and they show up the next day / week / year with their tent and belongings in tow trying to get to their former rooms to the horror of uninformed paying guests?
Do they have a plan for that?

I drive down Calliope everyday for work, they know my vehicle and keep walking. I’ve seen them shooting up and fighting at a park on Camp. They are gonna fricking destroy those rooms.

That'll be fun when they try to kick them out.

Doing that in other cities as well I believe.
Austin TX was doing this prior to the COVID-19 outbreak. City purchased an old hotel and was preparing to move them in at Thanksgiving time.

Why? Do you go under overpasses or tent cities?
