Good teachers do more work during the school year than most idiots do in twelve months, and teachers aren't paid worth a shite.

And yet they choose this career path...I have no sympathy and think they should grow up.

A lot of them are glorified babysitters. I mean the technology these days you could have fewer teachers and more people just watching to make sure the kids don’t act up. It’s a slow death of professors and teachers.

Anyone who deals with these 'i gots to be on my phone 24/7 and everything offends me' worthless mouth breathers for a living deserves a few months off. If not, it would eventually be a teacher shooting up a school instead of a student

So go be a teacher you dumb fcker.

Even though I am qualified to teach math at the college level and have, I'm not qualified to teach 9th graders arithmetic unless I pay a few thousand bucks of my own money to attend summer alternative certification bootcamp. There I will be taught to teach by someone that probably could not hack it in any college curriculum other than teacher education.

Great childcare savings if they have young kids. Excluding in service I think my kids were out of school for about 5wks with holidays and weather days before the summer started.

I went to a graduation last Saturday for some students graduating from a totally online high school. Many of them racked up on scholarships to some great schools.

Most professions have to pay their own money to get licensed.

Not sure why you're being a dick about it, but most teachers don't get 10 weeks off with the in service days they have to do. Most report back within the first few days of August.

Also, many teachers I know get second jobs during the summer. I respect the profession, but I wouldn't do it for the 10 months of bullshite they have to put up with from kids, parents, and administrators.

Give them a raise!!

Give them early retirement!!

Give them more holidays!!

Give them all of the above and they will still whine.

I am board certified in a profession, the exams and other fees cost a fraction of what the teacher certification boot camp cost which is in addition to any licensing fees. It is nothing but a money grab by the school board, and a toll gate to protect existing teachers.

They can retire at 50 or 55 and draw 80% or more of their salary for the rest of their lives--they also will get golden healthcare the rest of their lives AND they get DROP which is a BS giveaway that can easily be $150,000 AND their pensions in Louisiana are state income tax free.
