Shaquille O'Neal spreads cheer and generosity everywhere he goes and without calling attention to himself. He is probably the nicest guy on the planet.

Shaquille O’Neal pays tab for entire restaurant after date with mystery woman

quote:

He popped in with the unidentified woman, whom he was overheard describing as “my date,” and ordered Beijing chicken, shrimp tempura and the restaurant’s signature chicken satay. “She did all the ordering,” an insider told Page Six. After their meal, O’Neal, 50, proceeded to buy dinner for the entire server team.

quote:

And to top that off, he paid for everyone’s check [who was] dining at the restaurant,” the source added.

quote:

O’Neal apparently wanted to keep his generosity a secret from fellow diners. He asked the staff not to mention that he was paying the bill for over 40 tables until he left the restaurant, according to our source.

The smiles he brings to sick kids in hospitals is enough for Peter to waive him right on through those pearly gates.

Was watching some funny Shaq TNT highlights with the crew.

That dude is a just a gem. Not just for LSU or the NBA…but for the world.

Man I miss his days playing. Glad I lived to see it. NBA sucks now.

Spent some time at Broussard Hall with him back in the day.

His playful/good nature has only evolved into the ambassador we see today. He is truly an exceptional person.

Love that guy

When I worked at OLOL he would pop in unannounced to visit sick kids. He didn't want any fanfare about it, he just wanted to makes them smile. It's like he's driven by pure goodness.

It gets thrown around a lot, but Shaq is truly a national treasure. What a genuinely good soul

So easy to do when you are a multi millionaire, but yeah, props to him for that.

It's not easy or typical for someone to be consistently generous and kind to total strangers everywhere just because one is wealthy. Most rich people are not generous on the level that he is, and when they are they often want attention drawn to it.

If he wasn't very wealthy, Shaq would still find a way to improve the lives of people around him because he is a genuinely altruistic spirit.

I saw one video where he shows up at a jewelry store and this guy is checking out as he just purchased an engagement ring and Shaq just hands the cashier his card haha.

Obviously you’ve never had money and been famous.

It’s arguable that it’s harder to do.

You’ve got more distractions.

Plus, your comment is just plain a-hole-y.

Unlike many young men in today's world, Shaq had a (step)dad in his life that mentored him, spent time with him and taught him lessons in life that would be a continuing force that drives him to success. And though Coach Brown gets some negativity here, he took on that role as mentor and pushed Shaq to not only be a great basketball player, but a great person as well. Well done, Shaq.

Here's the thing, Shaq didn't always have money and he never forgot where he came from. That's what kept him grounded and humble.

My best Shaq story is when he heard that a young boy's dying wish was to see snow for the first time in his life...he lived in Calif...Shaq hired several 18 wheelers, had them drive up into the nearby mountains fill their trucks full of snow & over night cover the boy's yard with all the snow. This is the kind of off the wall stuff he is famous for & he does it all the time.
