I know money is a strong motivator, but I always question how people in his line of work justify to themselves their life's work.

Don’t quit your day job and become a lawyer then

Or become an insurance defense lawyer and fight the plaintiff.

An insurance defense lawyer will bill their client .5 hours to review a motion that they promptly placed in File 13 with little more than a cursory glance.
