Explain it to me like you're about to ban me. Everything I see from Google shows my position is correct, except the vampire part. I made that part up.

I already explained it in the thread.

Thank you for this. And to Amazon for the list and descriptions of his other many NOLA books.

You’re welcome. If I were you, I would read Bienville’s Dilemma first. It will provide a lot of context.

Richard Campanella is a geography professor at Tulane who has become THE authoritative geographical historian of New Orleans.
Met him about a decade or so ago when he was on the same team as me and my firm, put together to go after a big planning job. Very smart guy who knows his shite, but also very nice and down-to-earth. Run into him every so often in town and chat briefly; last time was when he was lined up in Krewe du Vieux, when he reigned as king. I joked with him and told him he was a true New Orleanian now as he had his face on a go-cup. He got a good laugh out of that.
His book Bienville's Dilemma is one of my favorites, and I highly recommend it. I will definitely get a copy of the new book.

Pick any part of the East bank of NOLA. Now walk east to the Atlantic Ocean. Let me know when you are forced to swim across the Mississippi River.

Well technically you can walk across the Crescent City Connection, keep walking and end up in the Atlantic Ocean. You’d have to traverse Florida, but you’ll eventually get there.
CCC runs due East to the westbank. Everybody knows that.

Did the book mention Mo's pizza and Mosca's?

Bruh, why you going so hard in the paint on this topic? It’s just fun fact. Everybody knows why it’s called the West Bank / East Bank.
But point in fact, if you head due East from anywhere along Tchoupitpoulas in Uptown, your going to hit and cross the Miss River and into Algiers before you have to cross that river again into the lower 9 area.
Why so salty?

So you’re on the east bank, cross the CCC, and walk to Florida how exactly?
Posted on 5/27/24 at 7:28 pm to ChestRockwell
It mentions Mosca’s a couple of times. No Moe’s.

Campanella is great. He may know more about New Orleans than any person alive.

Or Rainbow Lanes and midnight bowling?

then you would see, clearly, that the banks are named appropriately.
Waggaman is on the same side of the river as California, so he can refer to that if he gets confused again.

The guy asked it to be explained to him. So I did. That’s salty?

His book on draining New Orleans is also great.
