Amazon isn’t cheaper anymore. They raised prices to get profitable.

This is on you dumbass. You deserve every bit of shite you catch (if you catch any) for waiting till the last minute.

AMAZON SET THE NEW STANDARD. Modern customer service sucks.
While OP’s complaints are petty and ridiculous, Amazon really set the golden standard for Customer Service in the past. I think they are still very good and one of the best, but have certainly gone downhill.
Remember the commercials for their Kindle devices where you could get a live video of a person who could help you with your device? That was unheard of. Most of their CS was US based, incredibly friendly, and went out of their way to keep you happy. You can still find these guys, but have to jump through the standard ESL low level gatekeepers with canned responses. Even then, they usually get your issue resolved at no cost with minimal issues except a few minutes of time.

quote:Me and my neighbor have been exchanging packages over the last couple of weeks. My business placed an order for stuff I sell. 10 items, we got 9. Tracking says the 10th box is 20 miles away at their facility. Called Fedex and was told they wouldn't start to investigate until the customer calls about not receiving the package. I was also told that packages aren't considered lost until after 8 days past the delivery date.
I'm more mad at Fedex. I needed a part last Friday. Last Wednesday I ordered it next day air. As of today it's still in Memphis
Now if you really want to talk about incompetence, there's USPS! They gave something I ordered to a person who came into the post office. Admitted their mistake and then said their was nothing they could do since the shipper didn't insure the package. Twice in the past year, I have walked into my local post office to pick up a package and was given someone else's stuff. They do not give a shite at all. They refuse to deliver to my house because I have a driveway gate. Said if it was a manual cattle gate they would, but because it's electric and automated, they will not, even if I pull the pin from the actuator arm and have the damn thing wide open. Apparently, they are afraid they will get trapped.

Meanwhile, the least three orders I’ve made at Walmart that were “in stock” were all cancelled on me three days after I made the order and on the day I was supposed to receive them.
The last Walmart order I made was for an in stock local pickup. Got to the store went to the pickup area, where they notified me that they cancelled the order.
Both Amazon and Walmart are usually good, but this kind of shite happens, especially this time of year when volume is insane.

Been that way for a few years. Most products are cheap chinese knockoffs, the quality stuff isn't priced any better than specialty stores.

You're likely going to need to put a secure parcel box near the gate. Getting stuck behind gates is a concern for many.

On Christmas Eve, I ordered 3 things.
I would assume they are shorthanded on Christmas eve after the barrage of shite they delivered over the past two months.
I ordered about 10 items and was happy with 8 of them

quote:Not an option. The postmaster said they are not allowed to put their vehicle in reverse and back up. Also asked me if I had any dogs. She said that are not required to deliver packages to addresses that have dogs. I signed a form that was supposed to keep all of my packages at the post office. Went to pick up one, and they had to pull it off the mail carrier's vehicle before she started her route. I guess they just wanted to drive it around all day, because they sure as Hell wasn't going to deliver it.

I don’t know what to think of you anymore. No communication, chocolates, or Lady Gaga tickets. Size does not matter. Really.

With the amount of volume that comes through the PO during peak season this is quite common. When clerks sort stuff they are hitting each barcode with a scanner and it spits out the route number. Clerks are not looking at individual addresses, they are just sorting it by route. Then when the carriers get the stuff just for their route, which this time of year is often double or triple the amount of volume, they’ll be sorting it by where it is in their route or by street and might not be aware that your stuff is on a hold. Another possibility is that if a regular carrier does know about your situation and they are not working that day a substitute won’t so it’ll get loaded on the mail truck. A final possibility is that they have extra personnel in to help out delivering only packages and there is minimal chance that they’ll know to set it aside. Depending on the route there could be upwards of 1000 different delivery points on a single route.
Thanksgiving through Christmas is hell for the post office. Throw the Amazon into the mix and it magnifies existing issues. When gas prices jump up Amazon will reconfigure their routes delivering more closer to their distribution hubs and they’ll dump the bulk of their crap on the PO. There was a three day stretch last weekend where the PO in my little town of 3000 was getting pounded with around 1600 Amazon packages each day. That’s 400 Amazon items per route in this 4 route office. Couple that with Amazon dropping their stuff off a few hours after their designated drop off time and it’s a mess. On Friday and Saturday they never showed up at all and we have over 2000 Amazon items that will probably show up tomorrow on top of mail, packages from the USPS, and whatever UPS drops off. If we had it when we were supposed to get it this stuff would’ve been delivered by 6pm on Christmas Eve. Since some people are lazy and decide to start their Christmas shopping after Mary’s water breaks they didn’t get what they ordered. That’s not on the post office, that’s on Amazon not getting their crap to us.

Must have been drinking too much grey goose to check on the delivery dates before you hit submit on the payment.

Again, another person who struggles with reading comprehension. I used a freaking AMAZON GIFT CARD. No banks are involved. They have the code for the gift card, they can see to the penny what it was used for, and have the power to immediately add credit back to it. They just choose not to.
Gift cards are still run through credit card systems dude. There’s going to be processing time to avoid scams and people taking advantage, etc. Not to mention you are chatting with customer service on one of their busiest days of the year…you need to have a drink and chill.

This sucks now?
